Act1988(CentralAct59of1988)videNotificationNo.FTD4TMA93,Bangalore,dated16
011993byappointingtheCommissionerforTransportastheChairman,InspectorGeneralof
Police&Commissioner,Traffic&RoadSafetyandSuperintendentEngineer(Designs),Inland
Transport and Ports, P.W.D are the Members of KSTA, Bangalore. The State Transport
AuthorityalsoconsistsofonenonofficialmemberappointedbytheGovernment.

TheKarnatakaStateTransportAuthorityhasgotpowerstograntAllIndiaPermitsfor
TouristVehicles(Buses),MotorCars,Maxicabs,Interstatepermitsforstagecarriages
and also Goods carriages as per the InterState Agreement.It has power to take action under
section86oftheM.V.Act1988tosuspendorcancelpermitforviolationofanyconditionofthe
permit.

with the fee of Rs. 600/. He also should produce the R.C. Book, Karnataka State Permit,
FitnessCertificate,InsuranceCertificte,TaxCardandPollutionundercontrolcertificate.

InrespectofalltheabovecasesthepermitholderhastopayBilateraltaxtotheconcerned
states.Inadditiontothehomestatetaxthatisbeingpaid.
