Supplementary figure

The velocity field remains unchanged with time of experiment for the given set of operating
conditions and is affected more by the suction at the exit than the natural convection. The
maximum velocity gradient is found near the entrance of the reactor outlet channel. The
pressure drop associated with this velocity profile is considerably small. The Reynolds
number for the system varies from 0.002 to 24.3.
