The two story wood frame house is surfaced with two tiered rustic drop siding and ha a shallow hip roof. The
open porch with its roof canopy supported by four Doric columns and its solid lower enclosure, extends across the full
front of the house. The building reflects Colonial Revival/Classical Revival influences in its design. The building
differs from the adjacent two houses with wood siding that is slightly wider, and a lowered porch. A shallow angled
bay extends two stories tall along the northern part of the faade and contains double hung windows on each floor:
windows on the southern angle are six lights over one, central windows are eight lights over one, and the northern
surfaces contain windows with six lights over one. The southern end of the faade contains paired six over six light
windows on both floors.
The porch roof supports an open gabled form and two stylized support brackets above the entry. The north
elevation contains another two story bay with windows similar to that on the faade. The south elevation contains
another entrance form with its own roof, Doric corner column, and pair of six-light over one windows. The second
floor contains a group of three corner windows, two taller windows flanking a smaller one and a very small square
window. There are two more windows on the first floor. Windows appear original except for two or three altered on
the south elevation. An additional covered stairway and entry has been added to the second floor at the rear (west).

Wright & Kimbrough

n/a

The building was originally constructed in 1908 by the Wright & Kimbrough Co. with two flats. As a rental property,
the tenants changed regularly. During the 1930s, the Naylor family were owner/occupants. In the 1940s and 1950s,
Carl Sprogis was an owner and an occupant.
The property does not appear to be associated with individuals significant in the history of the community, or with
important events. Its builder was responsible for the design and construction of many Sacramento homes during the
first half of the twentieth century. This building was not a unique example. Further, it is not a significant example of
its style or type, and lacks architectural distinction. While it does not appear to meet criteria for listing on the
Sacramento Register, the California Register or the National Register, the building does enhance the visual imagery of
the two building on the north as a small, relatively intact grouping from the early twentieth century.
