theTimorSea,offshoreAustraliaunderCanadianNexenInc.
followingBHPPetroleumAustralia.Thefielddevelopment
consistedofawellheadplatformlocatedin30meterswater
depthproducingtotheFPSO,whichwaslocatedin255meters
waterdepth.
TheBuffaloreservoirliesbelowashallowportionofAustralia's
BigBank,whichissurroundedbydeeperwaterrangingfrom280
to350meters.Theseverelyslopedseabed(upto75degrees)
presenteduniquechallengestobothmooringandrisersystem
designers.Tocopewiththesechallenges,themooringsystem
designincludedtheanchorsfortwo(2)ofthesix(6)legstobe
locatedintheshallowwatersofthebankandtheremainingfour
(4)legsarelocatedindeepwaterdownto350meters.
