this handbook to refer to for
any questions you may have.

Christina PrattiniOwner/Director
Christina is originally from Jefferson, Louisiana. She began dancing at
the age of 2 at Sue Burke, where she attended daycare at. She then took classes Martha Mayer School of Dance and then when she moved to St. Bernard
she took classes at Glenda Hoselle and Tammy Zachary. Christina joined the
Beauregard/St. Bernard Belles Dance Team where she was an officer for three
years and Captain her senior year. She has performed in the Bahamas, Bermuda, Hawaii, Super Bowl XXIII and Super Bowl XXIV for American All Star
Dance Team. In her senior years she was selected as a staff member for American All Star under the direction of Leslie Fitzmorris. Christina began teaching
dance at Sherry Terry Studio of Dance and once the studio closed due to Hurricane Katrina she began teaching at Fleur De Lis School of Dance. When that
studio closed, she did not have the heart to tell her students they did not have a
place to dance at, so she decided to open up her own studio. Her vision for the
studio was to strive on family fun atmosphere with an excellent program in
teaching dance. She has always had a love of dancing all her life and wants
others to have that same love of dance.

Heather Mathison's love of dance began at age 2
and she has been pursing her passion for over
27 years. She trained in ballet, jazz, musical
theatre and tap at a local studio and was a competitive dancer for six years. While attending
Louisiana State University, she was introduced to
modern and contemporary and performed in
several dance department showcases. She has
over 8 years of teaching experience and enjoys
sharing the love of dance with her students.

Leah Reeb is 23 years old and is from Chalmette,


Louisiana. She is a graduate of Southeastern
Louisiana University. She has currently been
dancing for 21 years and competed for 12 years.
As a late competitor she received 1st overall's for
her solo performance all throughout her high
school years. She has performed inn Hawaii, New
York, Paris & Disney World. Leah has been apart
of the BC fields dance company for 3 years and
will continue to perform for more years to come.
She loves nothing more than to teach by her
moms side.

John Esperance has been in the performing arts since the


age of six. He started dancing and tumbling at Javiers Dance
Studio, and hasnt stopped ever since. He is still an active
member of a performing dance company. John has been
trained in numerous styles of dance such as Lyrical, Jazz,
Spanish Folklore, Hip Hop, and many more. He has performed in numerous major venues such as Disney World,
The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival, Casa Terebone
New Orleans Culture Festival, The Dance Challenge, and
many others including local flash mobs. When John was in
high school he joined the cheer team, and was also an athlete on a competing all-star cheer squad. He has had jobs
teaching cheer, gymnastics, tumbling, and hip hop at many
locations including Gymnastics Plus, Galloways Studio of
Dance, and Javiers Dance Studio. John wants to share his
abilities and knowledge with the community and hopes that
his students benefit greatly from what he brings to the table.

Class Withdrawal
If your child quits after January 1st you will still be responsible for all fees
including recital fee, all costume balances and tuition through May 27th.

Attendance
Students who miss more than 15 classes could be dropped from the class. All
fees will still be assessed if dropped. Students are given 10 tardies before they
will be marked absent.

Attire
Students are only allowed to wear crop tops, form fitting tanks, leotards, dance
shorts , ballet skirts and leggings. No t shirts, soffee shorts or sweat pants are
allowed. Students are giving three warnings before they are asked to sit out
due to incorrect attire. This applies to shoes as well. Hair must be pulled back
and out of the face either in a ponytail or bun. Students are not to have any
jewelry on in dance class. Shoes are to be purchased through the online system
or using an accessory form which is located in the lobby. Orders will be
placed the 1st & 15th of every month as long as it is paid in full. If you choose
to not order shoes through us you need to get the correct model number, style
and color. If you order the wrong style shoe you will have to re order the correct style. This goes for shoes and tights.

Calendar
Calendars will be handed out at the end of August. Please use this as a guide
for holidays and extra practices. Please note the schedule is subject to change
so please update your calendar periodically.

Costumes
For non competition students costume payments will be $50 and for competition team members the costume payments are $60. Please see your calendar
for exact due dates of when your costume payments are due. Late fees will be
assessed if not paid on time. Students will not receive their costumes without
all costumes paid in full. If you did not make your costume payments, your
costumes will not be ordered. In addition you will have to pay rush shipping
for your childs costume providing the costume is still available. Costumes
average $50-$55.00 per costume. If your child is in 6 numbers, his or her costumes will roughly equal $300.00-$330.00.

Recital
The recital fee is $140 and will be split up into 2 payments. $70.00 is due January 20 and $70.00 is due April 7. Included in your recital fee you will receive a free recital book, plus 9 recital tickets per child at no cost. End of the
year trophies and recital tickets will not be handed out without all balances
being paid for. Late fees will be assessed if not paid on time. Recital practices
and all practices in the month of May are MANDATORY. Our 2017 recital
date is May 27th and it will be held at Northshore Harbor Center. Parents are
not allowed backstage for dress rehearsal or recital. Students are not to be
roaming around the auditorium during auditorium practices and students are
not allowed in the audience without a cover-up during dress rehearsal and recital.

Tuition
Tuition is due the 1st of every month. You can pay by credit/debit card, check
or cash. Late fees will be assessed for tuition. If your balance exceeds over
$800 an automatic payment must be made of $100 every month until the balance is paid for. If the automatic payment is not made you will not be allowed
to return to class until the payment is made. You can check your balance
online through the parent portal. There is a NSF for all returned checks. If you
need to set up a payment plan please see Mrs. Christina. If your child takes
unlimited classes, he/she can receive a discount on tuition. See Mrs. Christina
for more details.

Dance Studio Pro


Dance studio pro is our online system which handles all of your balances and
many other features. If you need your login information resent to you please
email the studio account and we will have it sent to you. To pay for tuition
using your parent portal please follow the directions below:
* Log into your account
* Select Account,
* Pay Online
*Other and then click on drop down menu and select what you are
paying for.
You can also look at your child's schedule, sign up for automatic tuition, look
up your payment history, shop online for clothes and shoes and many other
things. For anyone who has questions about how the system works please see
Mrs. Christina.

Lobby
Food and drink are only allowed in the lobby. Water is the only thing accepted
into the studio. Please be considerate of classes in session and keep noise at a
minimum. Gossiping about faculty members, students or any thing related to
Just Dance Studios is not tolerated. There is to be no cursing or inappropriate
language in the lobby. Please do not sit in the hallway as it leads to a huge
traffic jam when classes are coming out and going in. Students are to wait in
the lobby to be picked up. No one is to be outside waiting for their ride. Students are to arrive 10 minutes before class and have the necessary shoes on.
All personal belongings including dolls and toys are to be left in the waiting
room. Cell phones may be brought into the studio but must be on silent. After
the 2nd time the child is seen with the cell phone or it goes off they will not be
allowed to bring it in. If you have any questions regarding your child or anything concerning the studio please email the studio. All emails and phone calls
will be returned from 9:00 am-5:00 pm MondayFriday. All payment are to
be put directly into the box. Please do not hand payments to students assistants
or teachers in-between classes.

Social Media
We are implementing a new policy. Please do not take this personally or lightly. If negative things are posted on Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, Muical.ly,
etc., or exhibit behavior reflecting negatively on the studio, we will consider
this grounds for probation or suspension from the studio. This includes behavior of the parents as well. This will be applied to all public events as well, i.e.,
Parades, Recital, Competitions, etc. Remember you are a representative of Just
Dance Studios and we want to strive for a positive family atmosphere.

Class Etiquette
No one is to enter the studio without approval from the teacher. No one is allowed to hang out in the studio before classes start. Parents are not allowed in
the studio for any reason unless its an emergency. If you must come into the
studio please knock first. If you need to drop off water to your child please
drop it off in the lobby. No student is allowed to leave class without permission from the teacher. There is no food, gum or anything other than water allowed in the studio.

Medical Situation
In the case of a medical condition which prevents a student from dancing and
exists for 30 days of more, a credit will be issued toward the next semester
under the following condition : A letter must be presented from a doctor stating the medical condition and the number of days a dancer is unable to participate in class. If a student is only injured for a limited of time and will return
back to class, he/she must still observe the class to continue learning what they
have missed.

Inclement Weather
The safety of our students, teachers and parents is of utmost concern. If the
weather is bad and we have to cancel class you will be notified by email and/or
text. Classes missed because of weather closures will be made up.

Parental Involvement
We encourage parental involvement by sending home updates with information about important studio news and events. We will have 3 watch days
for you to come and observe what your child has learned. Please observe discreetly and respectfully.

Holidays
We follow the St. Tammany Parish school board calendar when it comes to
holidays. However extra practices can be added on days our dancers are off of
school, so please look at your calendars for those days.

Incentives
Pay 6 months of tuition in advance and receive $25 off for one month. Pay for
the entire year of tuition in advance and receive a month off.

Private Lessons
Private lessons are available for $30 per hour. Please see Mrs. Christina directly for more information.
