Matter anything that has mass and takes up space
Volume The amount of space taken up by an object, or occupied
by an object, 3D
Meniscus the curve at a liquids surface by which one measures
the volume of the liquid
Mass A measure of the amount of matter in an object, this
measure does NOT change no matter where in the Universe you
are.
Weight - The measure of the gravitational pull on an object; this
measure CAN change depending on where you are in the
Universe.
Inertia - The tendency of an object to stay in motion in the same
direction and with the same speed unless acted on by an outside
force.
Physical change - A change that affects 1 or more of the physical
properties of a substance, i.e. freezing or melting
Density - The amount of matter in a given space or volume, the
compactness of an object.
Physical property - A characteristic of a substance that can be
observed or measured without changing the matters identity, i.e.
density, color, hardness.
Chemical property - Describes matter based on its ability to
change into new matter that has different properties; has
undergone a chemical reaction, i.e. wood that has been burned.
Chemical change - A change that occurs when 1 or more
substance change into entirely new substances with different
properties, i.e. sour milk.
