THE KING IS COMING

Narrator

More than 2000 years has passed since the LORD

rose from the dead. Life has passed us so
drastically; changes have taken place, technology
and knowledge increased. Together with these
advancements, much sorrow has followed.

Society has moved into godlessness, families

destroyed, and others forgetting that the only
answer to lifes questions lie in the Man Jesus
Christ
Who walked the earth and is still very
much alive!
SCENE 1
Narrator

:
Sonia is a 14-year old girl who is completely
addicted to electronic devices and social media,
so much so that she often ignores her family and
friends.

Father

:
Sonia! Sonia! Sonia! (Angrily) Young lady, can
you answer me?

Sonia :

What is it, Dad? (Irritated)

Father

:
Why are you so disrespectful? I called you 3
times, yet you are so glued onto that phone that
you cant even answer me!

Sonia :

Oh great! Here we go again!

Father

Whats so important on that phone of yours?

Youre addicted to it! If not the phone, then
its TV. If its not that, its your iPad. Ive a
mind to confiscate your electronic gadgets
entire week. Lets see how you spend your
Sonia :

Uggghh. Youre impossible, Dad. Im outta here.

~Walks out angrily~

SCENE 2
Narrator

:
Sonia runs into her classmate and good friend,
Selena, who is a Christian.

Selena

Sonia :

Its nothing, forget it. What brings you here?

Selena

Sonia :

Looking for me? Why? ~Phone rings~ Just a sec.

Selena

Sonia :

Wait, hold that thought ~Replies a text~ Ah yes,

you were saying?

Selena

:
Well, theres an evangelistic youth meeting at
our church today and

Hi Sonia! Whoa, why do you look so cross?

Ive been looking all over for you.

I was wondering would you like to come for?

Sonia :
Church again Selena? Too boringIve told you
before. ~Phone beeps~ Ive gotta go need to
this.
SCENE 3
Narrator

:
Sonias elder brother, Silas is in Form 5 and
will be sitting for his SPM examination soon.
However, he is severely distracted by his peers
who have dropped out from school and encourage
him to play truant to join them. Silas starts
skipping school regularly, but is caught by his
father one day.

Father

Stop right there, Silas!

~Silas drops his shoulders and looks up, frustrated. He slowly faces his
father~
Silas : (to himself) Just great.
Father

Arent you supposed to be in school now?

Silas :

Yes but

Father

Then what on earth are you doing here? (angrily)

Silas :
Im sick and tired of school and studying! Whats
the point? Id way rather hang out with my
friends than to listen to my boring teachers all
long.
Father

Silas :

Whatever. Youll never understand anyway cause

youre too busy for me.

~Storms out of the house~

SCENE 4
Narrator

:
Silas meets up with Luke, who is a few years
older than him and dropped out of school when he
was his age. Luke often encourages Silas to skip
school and join him at his Internet caf, where
he works.

Luke

Hey man, forget about your father. As if he

understands anything that youre going through.
Now that youre missed school, you can join me to
go to the Internet caf again!

Silas :

Hey yeah, Ive been wanting to the whole week!

You understand way better than he does.

~Robber walks up to them with a gun~

Robber

Hand over your money to me now!

Both

Whoa! Ok, chill out man. Well give you what we

have! Just dont freak out.

~They hand over their wallets to the robber, who drops his gun while trying
to get away~
Silas :

Dude, he dropped his gun! Grab it quickly~

Luke

Lets get him!

~They run off-stage, in pursuit of the robber.

SCENE 5
Narrator

:
Adeline and Charis are two vain, self-obsessed
teenage girls who often spend their time worrying
about their lifes greatest concerns, such as
how
much they weigh, how popular they are on
Instagram
and how their hair looks.
~Takes a selfie~
Charis

Adeline

Charis

Of course I am. How else would anyone know what

we are doing now?

Adeline

Charis

Charis

No way! Thats so fetch! Ive gotta see this!

~They both excitedly look through the magazine. Charis shrieks~

It says here and I quote, Size 0 is a womans
ultimate ideal. How am I ever going to look like
Ariana Grande, Adeline? Im obese!

Adeline

So am I! Know what?

Charis

Adeline

I read somewhere that we can lose a whole lot of

weight quickly if we consume nothing but water
for an entire week!

Charis

Fabulous! Well start tomorrow, ya!

~Selena walks up to them~

Selena

Hi girls! How are you?

Charis

Oh hey, Selena. Whats up?

Selena

Well, I was just wondering if you two would like
to join me to church today cause

~Adeline shrieks~
Charis

What is it, Adeline? Whats wrong?

Adeline

Remember that picture we posted 10 minutes ago?

Charis

Yeah? What about it?

Adeline

See for yourself! (shows phone to Charis)

Charis

Adeline

Its official. Were socially dead.

Charis

Selena, really nice of you and all, but as you
can see, weve way more important things to worry
about!

~Selena sighs as she watches Charis and Adeline walk off-stage~

SCENE 6

Narrator

Selena runs into Simon, who is a very gifted

artist, but often uses his talent to vandalize

public property instead.
Selena

Hi Simon. Would you like to come to church today?

Simon

Selena, cant you see Im busy? These walls

arent going to vandalize themselves, you know.

Selena

I know, but its just for a while and then

Simon

Uh-huh. Not happening. See ya. Ive got my work

cut out for me.

Selena

(Dejectedly) Okhave fun.

~Selena walks off~

SCENE 7
Narrator

Kalki is a boy who got into bad company from a

young age and subsequently earned a reputation as

a local gangster, feared by most of his friends.

He was also reluctant to go to work, and would
rather steal money than work hard to earn it.
Selena

Hi Kalki. Would you like to come to church?

Kalki :

(Gets up shocked)Wait, what? Oh no, you started

already lah! Church, church, church. Cant you

see Im busy? Arent you scared of me?

Selena

No, Kalki. Im not scared of you. Jesus loves you

Kalki :

Love? Love is only for the movies never true in

real life! Just leave me alone!

Selena

Very well, but remember that Jesus cares.

~Kalki stands up and moves to the center of the stage~

Kalki :

Please! Love, and that too from God for a

gangster like me! Yeah, right! Now, (rubs hand

and faces Simon), for my lunch! (Collars Simon)

Kalki :

I need money for lunch! Give me what you have!

Simon

Whoa dude, I dont have any money!

~At this moment, Luke and Silas run on the stage in pursuit of the robber.
The robber grabs Kalki to defend himself and Luke accidentally shoots Kalki.
Kalki falls down, unconscious.

SCENE 8
Narrator

The sound of the gunshot draws Sonia, Adeline and

Charis who were not too far away when the

incident occurs. Kalki is unconscious.
Sonia :

What happened here?

Luke

Silas :

Somebody call 911!(Simon calls 911)

Adeline

Well, what did they say?

Simon

They cant make it in the next hour.

Charis

Wait a minute, Selena! Shell know what to do!

Its Kalki! Hes been shot!

~They rush to find Selena, who is talking with Shing Yuen while they both
walk up the stage~
Simon

Selena, help us! Kalkis been shot and we dont

know what to do!

Selena

Oh my goodness! Pastor, can you help us?

Pastor

I may not be able to do much, but everything is

possible through Jesus Christ.

Adeline

Lets go!

~They rush back to Kalkis side~

Charis

Hes stopped breathing!

Pastor

Dont worry! Lets all close our eyes and pray!

Girls :

Pray??? But

Luke

Well, if it will save his life.

~Pastor prays. Kalki slowly revives and gets up. Everyone is amazed.~
Kalki :

What happened?

Silas :

You were shot and completely unconscious, but

this man prayed for you and well, here you are!

Kalki :

(Points to Selena) Just now you said something

about a man named Jesus, right? He appeared to me

He said that everything is going to be ok!
Pastor

Jesus is God, my friend. He loves you and even

came to die for you.

Luke

But why did he have to die?

and
Who is He?

Selena

For our sins. We have all done wrong, and thats

why we cant go to heaven.

Pastor

But since Jesus paid the price by dying for us,

you are free from all sin and can go to heaven!

Kalki :

You mean a person like me can go to heaven?

Pastor

Yes! Most certainly! Nothing is too hard for

Jesus! All you have to do is believe that He is

God and follow Him.
Adeline

Where is He now?

Pastor

He has gone back to heaven, but He will return

someday. We must be prepared and wait for His

arrival!
