How to Make Essay Revisions:

1. Find a time to meet with me before or after school, BEFORE you begin your revision, to
discuss the changes you want to make and should make.
a. This should not be the day before the revision deadline. No essay is revised well
in one evening.
2. Revisions must be turned in with the original copy. Changes must be marked on
both copies. If these steps are not followed the revision will not count towards your
grade.
a. Simply saying you rewrote the whole essay will not be acceptable. You will have
to indicate how you did not make the same errors in your new essay that you did
in your original. (i.e. if in your original you didnt state the overall meaning in
your thesis, that is what you would mark as changed in your revision).
b. Some students have found it works well to number the changes that were made
and then explain what those numbers refer to. (This is similar to the way I provide
you feedback on your essay).
Notes about Essay Help:
1. I will ALWAYS meet with you in person before or after school to discuss revisions, but,
if you e-mail them to me, I may not be able to find time to read it before the revision is
due. If you cant meet with me in person to discuss your essay, then try to give me at
least 48 to read and respond to your essay.
