Makunudu is a small island resort with "no news no shoes concept" with an intimate setting.

Resort consists of 36 bungalows, all facing the


sea. Mainly European clientele, German, British, French, Italian and also some Japanese and Russian. The island is popular for many repeat
guests returning year after year. Being a small island the staff team is built upon a family atmosphere whereby staff approach to guest
services is personal and friendly.
We are looking for enthusiastic, young, innovative, talented & reliable team players to be a part of Makunudu Island team. If you are an

HUMAN RESOURCES OFFICER

Responsible in leading the strategy of human resources of Makunudu Island in Maldives, as per directions from
Resort Manager (RM), with the objective of improving the service and sustaining the growth of the company as a
whole.
To develop and structure the HR requirement of the island in close collaboration with RM
To design a job description for each employee and recommend the best manning required for the island
To collaborate with Inter-Ocean agency who liaise with Government authorities in renewing the work permit and
applying for it.
To collaborate with the payment of salary, and other necessary payments that needs to be done by HR.
To provide an effective and efficient services to colleagues during a period of implementation of new strategies
and change, and think strategically about how best to implement innovative strategic HR policies consistently in
the whole company.
To provide excellent service within the structure and carry out the line management responsibilities effectively.
Ensure that the following HR structure or processes are applied consistently according to RMs direction: i.
Recruitment and selection ii. Induction, Orientation and Training iii. Performance management and appraisal iv.
Reward and recognition v. Conflict and Disciplinary actions
Provide assistance, advice and support to HOD, and staff on HR systems and processes, including through the
current change projects.
Analyze the manpower requirement, identify, plan and organize the development skills that is needed to operate
effectively.
Ensure that various agenda, including benefit programs, meet the appropriate requirements and practices as per
approval by the RM.
To achieve excellence in HR structure, consulting with RM about everything that encompasses HR programs is
expected on a regular basis.
Upon approval from RM, GM and MD you will deliver core HR policies in a professional and consistent manner,
interpreting and improving services and processes as appropriate as possible
Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of local law.

RECEPTIONIST [Front Office]

Maldivian National Preferred.


Minimum two years experience in the similar field in a 4-star luxury hotel/resort environment is a must.
Excellent level of spoken and written English, additional languages will be an added advantage.
A Positive can do attitude.
Self-motive and result oriented.
Enthusiasm and drive for excellence.
Have experience in OPERA pms, Micros, Microsoft office package.
Should be willing to work extra hours.
Process all guest check-ins by confirming reservations, assigning room, and issuing and activating room key.
Process all payment types such as room charges, cash, checks, debit, or credit. Process all check-outs including
resolving any late and disputed charges.
Answer, record, and process all guest calls, messages, requests, questions, or concerns. Coordinate with
Housekeeping to track readiness of rooms for check-in.
Communicate parking procedures to guests/visitors and dispatch bell staff or valet staff as needed.

Supply guests with directions and information regarding property and local areas of interest.
Run daily reports (number of arrivals, departures), identify any special requests, and check reports for accuracy.
Complete designated cashier and closing reports in the computer system. Cash guests' personal checks and
traveler's checks.
Count bank at the beginning and end of shift. Balance and drop receipts according to Accounting
specifications.
Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures; report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work
conditions to manager.
Follow all company policies and procedures; ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional;
maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.
Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards; anticipate and address guests' service
needs; assist individuals with disabilities; thank guests with genuine appreciation.
Speak with others using clear and professional language; answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
Develop and maintain positive working relationships with others. Comply with quality assurance expectations and
standards.
Perform other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors.

HOUSEKEEPING SUPERVISOR

Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in housekeeping or similar role.


Excellent level of spoken and written English, additional languages will be an added advantage.
Maldivian National Preferred.

Have experience in OPERA pms, Micros, Microsoft office package.
Responsible for supervisory duties of day to day housekeeping operations, including laundry.
Daily supervision of rooms and deep cleaning tasks to team members
Manage guest requests, including VIP amenities and communicating them to the relevant team members
Routine inspection of guest bedrooms to ensure they meet standards
Achieve positive outcomes from guest queries in a timely and efficient manner
Carry out lost property procedures
Report maintenance issues to Maintenance/Engineering Department
Assist Room Division Executive with training requirements
Comply with resort security, fire regulations and all health and safety legislation
Assist other departments wherever necessary and maintain good working relationships
Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of local law.

ROOM ATTENDANT [Housekeeping]

Minimum 1 - 2 years experience in the similar field in a 4-star luxury hotel/resort environment is a must.
Excellent level of spoken and written English, additional languages will be an added advantage.

Should be willing to work extra hours.
To consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service
To clean all assigned guestrooms including: dusting, making beds, soiled linen removal from rooms, and retrieval of
clean linen from linen closets, vacuuming, bathroom cleaning, inside window cleaning, replenish rooms with
supplies
To maintain proper usage of cleaning supplies and equipment
To update and record all cleaned rooms
To return and properly tag all lost and found articles in the Housekeeping Office
To follow departmental policies and procedures and service standards
To report necessary maintenance items
To follow all safety and sanitation policies
Other duties as assigned

LAUNDRY ATTENDANT

Minimum 1 - 2 years experience in the similar field in a 4-star luxury hotel/resort environment is a must.
To receive, sort and count all linen and uniforms as per the resort procedure.
To prepare clean linen and uniforms for issue on a daily basis.
To check condition of uniforms and send damaged ones to seamstress for repair.

To check condition of resort linen ensuring soiled or damaged items are separated from the good.
Reports engineering failures and breakdowns to immediate supervisors.
Maintains linen room in a clean and tidy condition.
Ensures linen and uniforms are properly stored and par levels maintained.
Assists in linen and uniform inventory control.
Ensures cleaned guest laundry is delivered accurately and on time.
Executes departmental administration filling in forms and checklists as required on time.
Brings immediately to the Housekeeping Office any item(s) left in guest clothing and room linen or host uniforms,
and follow the standard operating procedure.
Contributes to the morale and team spirit of the resort by maintaining effective relationships with colleagues.
Performs additional duties as directed by supervisors.
Makes appropriate suggestions and recommendations to supervisors for the general improvement of the resort.
Is fully conversant with all health and safety, fires and emergency procedures.
Maintains a high standard of personal hygiene, dress, uniform, and body language.
Attends meetings and training as required by supervisors.
Ensures that all activities are carried out honestly, ethically, and within the parameters of local law.

WATER SPORTS INSTRUCTOR

Provide professional activities and service to guests
Assist coordination AM & PM with activities performed
Positive support of all safety, quality and productivity programs
Provide presentation skills and an ability to teach or train
Responsible for maintaining stock working inventories, requesting replacements
Strong knowledge of how to operate and maintain recreational equipment
Control of environmental management process for water use
Exposure to outdoors

WAITERS [Restaurant & Bar]

Previous service experiences an asset
Previous point of sale system experiences an asset, but not required
