A man with an incredible variety of talents

his occupations and hobbies will give some
glimpse of the man considered a Catskills
Treasure. He farmed, hunted, fished, trapped
and wood carved. He was known to skiers for
decades as the creator of the famed sourdough pancakes served
at Highmount Ski Center. With a life-time spent close to the land,
he was known as an expert on edible plants, and as an amazingly

A Recent Visitor to Fleischmanns has this to say!
On a sunny but windy Sunday afternoon, I visited the Village of
Fleischmanns and had a lovely day.
I was able to see my friend's husband's new store-Fur Feathers and
Steel which is being stocked for the fly-fishing season as well as her
newly renovated apartments upstairs. What a delight to see a former practically falling down building looking so good and apartments
so attractive. In fact, one of the apartments was being rented that
day by a resident of NYC.
We had a delicious lunch at a new Moroccan restaurant. Their tasty
cauliflower soup was something to write home about. Also the salads were yummy and filling. It's a wonderful addition to this small
village.
Two other local shops, both with very friendly owners, were a treat Foothills where I purchased waterproof boots and an interesting
jewelry/antiques shop with beautiful one-of-a-kind finds.
All in all, I had a wonderful day with unexpected treasures.
