Academic Honesty
Academic integrity is essential to a positive teaching and learning environment. Your instructor
expects all students enrolled in NMU courses will complete their coursework responsibilities
with fairness and honesty. Failure to do so by seeking unfair advantage over others or
misrepresenting someone else's work as your own, can result in disciplinary action. Read the
Student Code in the Student Handbook for student conduct.
Disability Services
If you have a need for disability-related accommodations or services or additional information,
please inform the Coordinator of Disability Services in the Disability Services Office at 2001
C. B. Hedgcock (227-1700 or disserv@nmu.edu). Reasonable and effective accommodations and
services will be provided to students if requests are made in a timely manner, with appropriate
documentation, in accordance with federal, state, and University guidelines.
Accommodations
Students with disabilities or extenuating circumstances that affect their ability to participate fully
in class or to meet all course requirements are encouraged to contact your instructor as soon
possible to discuss their individual needs for accommodation (e.g., religious holidays). Northern
Michigan University seeks to provide, on a flexible and individualized basis, reasonable
accommodations to students who have disabilities that may affect their ability to participate in
course activities or to
meet course requirements.
Sexual Harassment Policy
Northern Michigan University is committed to achieving a learning and working environment
free of sexual harassment. The policy on sexual harassment and other information is at the Equal
Opportunity Office at 906-227-2420.
