GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITY
Oversee all plant operations including production and capacity planning, facility maintenance, adherence to
estimates, ensure quality standards are met, evaluate performance and identify training needs and administer
company safety policy.

Conduct plant walk-throughs, identify HIRAs (Hazard Identification and Risk


Assessment) and gaps

Lead Management Review Committee on investigating High Severity / High Potential


Incidents, Medical Treatment Cases, and close Corrective Actions

Review HSIP status Monthly with HSE Manager, and review weekly incident report

Oversee the Plant Supervisors / Coordinators in the day to day implementation of HSE
activities

Plan, discuss, and organize current and future plant activities

Conduct scheduled meetings as required to address safety, quality and productivity


issues

Review costs and daily, weekly and monthly reports

Ensure that production deadlines are on track for completion dates

Schedule plant operations to meet delivery schedules.

Attend weekly coordination meeting.

Participate in the planning of projects.

Ensure procedures and work instructions are developed and implemented.

Participate in and ensure documented changes to processes.

Coordinate planning with Maintenance Supervisor for equipment downtime.

Work with Quality Assurance to schedule trials and samples as required.

Allocate labour and plan vacation schedule with input from Supervisors and Plant
Manager.

Delegate responsibility to the Front Line Supervisors to ensure production targets and
quality standards are met.

Schedule overtime as required through the Plant Supervisors.

Ensure Supervisors attain adequate level of competency in the areas of health and
safety, employee communication and best practices in production.

Work with Human Resources in interpreting and applying the terms of our collective
agreement. Participate in Collective Agreement negotiations.

Responsible for any additional administrative duties as may be identified in relation


to the management of employees at this location.

Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations; as
well as, the Company Health and Safety Responsibilities and Accountabilities

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES/CHALLENGES

Support and participate in ongoing Safety processes through the Health and Safety
Improvement Plan (HSIP)

Drives a culture of continuous improvement

Leads plant implementation of best practices in alignment with process improvement


initiatives

Implementation of corporate policies and procedures

Monitor plant operational results and implement corrective actions as necessary

Have working knowledge of all equipment within the plant and yard

Ensure all equipment and machines are working effectively and address repairs and
replacements as neededalso ensure all equipment operators are doing their part in
checking and reporting deficiencies of the equipment

Organizing work, planning and staff

Provide production input to other process groups

Ensure products are manufactured to CSA standards

Responsible for all inventories and purchases within facility

FUNCTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

5-7 years experience in a Production, Construction, or Manufacturing based


environment

Post-Secondary education or Technical Trades Certification focusing on the above

Leadership skills and experience in operating and supervising/managing within a


union environment of accountability and pride in product produced

Experience within a precast/prestressed facility, and/or extensive experience in the


construction industryknowledge of the company and industry

Exceptional time management, organizational and problem solving skills.

Proficient in MS Excel, Word and Power Point skills; SAP would be an asset.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy. Able to read and understand blueprints.

Familiar with the operation (safe and accurate) of required equipment cranes,
forklifts, trucks, etc.

Solid written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to take a disciplined and structured approach to coordinate and manage


information, to plan workload and to position activities, troubleshooting and strategic
initiatives for optimum results.

Uses sound judgment to make timely and effective decisions that consider both short
and long term risks, impacts and outcomes.

Physical Effort

Time is split between office, plant and yard

There is an infrequent need to lift, carry, push and/or pull object up to 10 lbs.
