Abstract

Since GCS assessment has shown 14 along with the normal verbal response, obey, command
and can know the name and date of birth, ABCDE assessment holds most priority as far as
other complications are concerned. Since he complains of shortness of breath, so it is
essential to go for airway blockage assessment and breathing assessment. If necessary
supplemental oxygen must be provided to bring back the oxygen saturation of the body to
normal 98% at room air. During that time further tests could have been ordered such as blood
tests, respiratory infection differential diagnosis through arterial blood gas test and a chest X
ray to diagnose the actual problem of chest infection. With regard to hypotension during
chest infection , the pathophysiology has been roughly nicely described I would have given a
bit more scientific explanation of how LPS(Lipopolysaccharide) present in the outer
membrane of gram negative bacteria causes infection and later on hypotension. (Kumar,
Abbas, Fausto, & & Mitchell, 2007). Since he may be tachycardia so his respiratory rate must
be monitored from time to time in order to keep a check. With regard to the reason behind
GCS is 14, I think the answer is explaining about why he has a low GCS but not an
explanation of why he has a GCS score of 14. Since his individual scores are good as far as
his symptoms shows the injury is minor ad he scored 14.So in over all the answers need to be
rechecked for accuracy.
