Coloured paper bags filled with various objects, worksheets

Ask students to listen for things that may talk


about weight

Ask students to break up into two groups. In each


group there will be 4 coloured bags, each with
different things. They will have to decipher what
bag is heavier, which is lighter, the order they
should go in and what might be in the bags.
Once each group has had a go at the first 4 bags,
they swap over so every student has tried 8 bags in
total.
Assist students who are struggling
Start a discussion about light and heavy

Conclusion

Students to discuss
their findings

Ask students to clean up and make a circle to


discuss, in the discussion we will talk about each
group of bags, identifying the heaviest, lightest and
the ones that fit in between.
We will also guess whats in the bag and have fun
opening the bags and seeing if our predictions were
correct.
