COUNSELLING UPDATE

Counselling procedures and rules

The Yenepoya Univeristy (YU) Merit Rank list based on the NEET All India rank is generated,
Merit Ranks up to 1000 (i.e up to NEET Rank 250175) are invited for the first round on
counseling on 27th and 28th Aug 2016.

Candidates will receive an SMS with their YU Merit Rank on 24th August, 2016, followed by the
Counseling Admit card on 25th by the registered email of candidate as an attachment.

The Admit Card (that are sent to you by email) and two Demand drafts as mentioned in the
admission procedure are a must for entry to the Counseling venue. Without this you will not be
allowed to attend the counseling.

Kindly note that you only have 2 days from the date of announcing of the Rank list to the
counseling date. Hence, please make necessary arrangements to have the DDs ready in time,
27th being a bank Holiday.

Schedule

Day 1 (27-08-2016): Counselling for MBBS/ BDS admissions for rank numbers between 1 and
500. The number of seats available for MBBS to be filled are 115. Seats will be allotted as per the
reservation criteria mentioned in the admission procedures. (General: 32, Karnataka Muslim: 51,
All India Muslim: 32).
The number of seats available for BDS to be filled are 85. Seats will be allotted as per the
reservation criteria mentioned in the admission procedures. (General: 30, Karnataka Muslim: 34,
All India Muslim: 21).

Day 2 (28-08-2016): Counselling for the remaining BDS admissions for rank numbers 500 to
1000.

We would like to make the counseling process as convenient and stress free as possible. Hence, please
adhere to the following instructions that will help you to ease the process:

Candidates MUST report on time as per your Rank in the Yenepoya University Merit list.
Candidates who do not report at the allotted time will not be allowed to participate in the
counseling.
The time taken for travel to Yenepoya University from Mangalore could vary from 20 minutes to
1 hour depending on traffic on a given day. So please plan your travel to be on time for your
counseling.
Candidates need to come at the allotted time. Arriving earlier than the allotted time will not be
entertained. Hence, you will need to report only at the allotted time on your admit card.
You will need to come to the campus through the main entrance of the Yenepoya University
campus.
