ZIKR & DUAS

(SUPPLICATION)
Those who remember Allah are eternally alive and those who are
devoid of Allahs remembrance are spiritually dead. Through
the Zikr of Allah one receives comfort for the heart, peace and
tranquility for the soul. Regarding this the Holy Quran in its unique
style has outlined its status and excellence.

ZIKR & REFLECTION:

Remembering Allah , who is the creator of the entire
universe, is not only an act of worship, in fact it is the essence of
worship. When a person with humility, sincerity, and humbleness
calls upon the Most Merciful, the Most Compassionate Lord ,
then his request and desire reaches the level of acceptance.
Almighty Allah bestows endless mercies upon those engaged in
His Zikr (remembrance). Zikr of Allah also proves as a means
of salvation at times of calamities and disasters.

Allahs Beloved Rasool

states, In that gathering in which
people remember Allah , the Angels of Allah surround that
gathering and the mercy of Allah descends on them, Allah
remembers them amongst those who are present in his courts.
(Muslim Sharif)

Allahs Beloved Rasool

states, Those that gather at one
place for the remembrance of Allah and the purpose for that
gathering is solely for his remembrance then someone from the
skies calls out to them saying WAKE UP all your bad deeds has
been changed to good deeds.
(Ibid)
Various ways of Dua (prayers) and Zikrs have been
recorded, to mention every formula will be difficult. However, the
modes of Zikr adopted and commonly practiced by prominent
spiritual guides and proven to be beneficial are mentioned here.
Particulary the Wazaaif of the Chishtiyya Qaadriyya order.

ETIQUETTE:
The recitation of Wazifaas and Duas are a means of
salvation at times of calamities and disasters, but its main
objective is gaining closeness to Allah , and this is the
outstanding beauty of Zikr.

Gar Tu Khwahi Dar Do Aalam Aabroo
Yaad-e Oo Kun Yaad-e- Oo Kun Yaad-e- Oo
If you desire respect and honour in both worlds
Remember Him, Remember Him, Remember Him
It is also the command of the Lord of the universe :

Fazkuruni Azkurkum Wash kuroo lee Walaa Takfuroon

Remember Me and I will remember you, and accept My right and
do not be ungrateful to Me.
1.) Zikr and Dua must be conducted with full concentration and
humility.
2.) Zikr and Dua should be made with understanding, so that a
person is aware of his needs.
3.) The best is regularity, as this is a means of blessings and
spiritual upliftment.
4.) When raising the hands in Dua, one should have full faith that
Almighty Allah will accept our Duas. The heart and tongue
should function in its conformity is of utmost importance. The
Dua of an inattentive heart is not accepted.
5.) When a person in need or difficulty or calls upon Allah
bearing in mind His attributes of Most Merciful, Most
Compassionate such a persons Duas are readily accepted.
6.) Commencing and concluding a Dua with the praise of the
Almighty Allah and Durood Shareef is a means of it being
accepted.
7.) Under normal circumstances, in the days of happiness
remember Allah so that in times of difficulties and
desperation He may accept your Duas.

Brothers and sisters of the spiritual path should once a week even
once a monthly participate in the Khatme Qaadriyya followed by
Zikr and Dua.

KHATM-E-QUADRIYAH
Khatm-e-Quadriyah has a lot of blessings. It should be made at
least once in a week individually, or collectively, or with the family
members
The gathering of those remembering Allah (ZIKR)
The gathering of believers to remember Allah and to supplicate
collectively is a great means of receiving blessings and sawaab. A
good gathering and remembering Allah is said to be a garden of
paradise in the Ahadith. This has been narrated by Hadrath Anas
that our Beloved Rasool

has stated, When you pass by the

garden of paradise eat something. The beloved companions asked

What is the garden of paradise? Our Beloved Rasool

replied,

It is the gathering of Zikr. (Mishkat)

The mureeds are encouraged to dedicate one day in a month or once
a week at least at home in a musjid to arrange a gathering of Zikr to
recite Khatmeh Qaderiya, Kalimah Tayibah and Durood Sharif.
This gathering should be held with respect and recitation,
supplications should be done with love and sincerity and send the
blessings to your beloved Sheik (Peer), Teacher, Parents, especially
Peerane Peer Dastagir Shaik Syeduna Abdul Qadir Jilani . If there
is an Aaalim present he must explain same masaail in which those
present may better their lives. Time should be considered and the
gathering should not be a burden for those good people attending.

27

The Mashaaik of Silsila Qaderia Alia for receiving blessings and

sending blessings has a gift in the courts of Peerane Peer Dastagir
Shaik Syeduna Abdul Qadir Jilani Al Hasini wal Husaini recite
some words of Zikr which is called Khatmeh QaderiaThe
following words of Khatmeh Qaderia should be recited 7 times or
if there is time constraints 3 times or at least once. When the
gathering is initiated monthly or weekly mureeds are encouraged to
attend regularly.
Note: Some Mashaaik recite more words more number of times this
is also acceptable.
After reciting Tawooz and Tasmiyah recite durood 7 times, Surah
Fateha and Surah Alam Nashrah silently with love and
concentration. If those in attendance do not know Surah Alam
Nashrah then the person leading the Zikr should recite loudly and
those present should listen attentively. Whilst reciting Khatmeh
Qaderia after completing every kalmah durood sharif should be
recited loudly.
When Khatm-e-Quadriyah is made together, then one person should
lead the Khatm by commencing Taawuz and Tasmiya. (Note:
Surah of the Holy Quran should be recited silently by all
participants) Each item must be recited at least 3 Times.
