You are going to practice using your vocab words. You need to:

correctly use 15 vocabulary words in written form. (This can be prose or poetry).
highlight each of the vocabulary words that you use with a highlighter or yellow
marker
make your text make sensethough it can be any genre you want.
write until you have used the required wordsphysical length is not a factor.
make sure that your use of the word reflects understanding of the meaning of the
word.

You may not:

use the passage to define the terms.

just write independent sentences. You must write something that incorporates the
words and their meanings together while showing a relationship between the
sentences in regard to content.
copy passages or poems from other resources.

This is worth 15 points!1 point per word correctly used. If you are worried about using a word
incorrectly, you may use all 20 words (though the extra words are not extra credit).

Example of a prose passage (fiction):

My Crazy Classroom
I have this teacher who is a complete martinet and rules over her classroom like she is the most
significant person in the entire world. Anyone who attempts to disabuse her of this notion is
always buffeted about by her, the teachers, turbulent response. She shouts and gesticulates
wildly as she comments on how the classroom is only in a state of chaos because of the students
who vociferously engage in private conversations while, simultaneously throwing paper airplanes
across the room. It it those reprehensible renegades who corrode the integrity of this classroom,
not I! she shouted at us from behind her wooden podium. For those of us whose extant desire to
learn from the class, her attempt to implicate someone else in something that is her fault is a
somber part of our reality. Her voluminous lectures on how she attempts to obviate these
disruptions through organized lessons and passionate projections usually take up the entire
class period. She, unfortunately, often fails to discern the irony of her statements. Truthfully?
We often wish that we could inter our abhorred teacher into a voluminous grave ten thousand
feet underground so that we could amend the reality of our situation and perhaps begin to learn
again!

Example of a poetry passage:

A Renegades Dreams
Settled in squalid surroundings,
the young renegade dared
to look beyond the corrosive chaos
the vociferous violence,
the turbulent tension
to see beyond
all that he abhorred.
A chance to amend the future
before it became the present
dangled before him as if
from the hand of an unseen martinet.
The dreams of his parents,
grandparents interred in the past
haunted him, reminding him of the
somber nature of Hope and
Despair extant in every dream.
He discerned the risk,
obviated obstacles and
refused to be buffeted about
by reprehensible decisions
which hinder others because
he knew
the only one implicated in his failure
would be
himself.
