Class Description: The goal of this course is to give students the opportunity to explore production horticulture
and viticulture Topics to be studied include opportunities in the FFA, California agriculture, wine grape harvest, plant
production, propagation, enology, pest control, soil science, planting, germination & seeds, history of the local wine
industry, fermentation, pruning, careers and record keeping. Furthermore students are required to participate in
at least three FFA activities per quarter, which may include leadership training experiences offered by the FFA.

Expectations
Be Respectful

Be respectful of the classroom, your classmates, and your teacher. Trash goes in the trashcan! Im your
TEACHER, not your MAID. If you dont own it, do not write, draw, break or carve on it. Treat everyone
with proper consideration, whether he/she is in the classroom at the time.

Be Responsible Be on time, go to your assigned seat, get out your supplies & get to work right away, leave your excuses

at the door, bring necessary materials, wear appropriate clothing & footwear for the days task, be
mindful of due dates and deadlines and turn in your work on time.

Be Honest

Be Involved, participate to the fullest extent that you can, ask and answer questions, stay on task, take
notes, your learning, actions, attitude, and behavior are 100% yours own it and act accordingly. If
you didnt do you work, just admit it NO EXCUSES, If you dont understand, ask for help, if you choose
to break the rules, that means you choose to accept the consequences.
Be honest in your work, words, and actions. Avoid inventing excuses to cover up for your mistakes,
accept consequences and learn from them.

Grading Policy*
Late work will not be accepted without an excused absence & must be
completed within 2 days of absence. Extra credit is only accepted for a
maximum of 15 points per semester see guidelines next page.
FFA Participation = 10%
Binder, Quizzes, & Tests = 40%
Classwork & Homework = 50%

Be Involved

Be nice or neutral to everyone; swearing, teasing, talking back and bullying will NOT be tolerated! Conduct
yourself as a mature, well-mannered young adult Think before speaking, put your electronics &
headphones AWAY for the remainder of the period and use your privileges wisely. Do not stand by the

each quarter and will be returned to the student at the beginning of the next quarter

Total points possible for each scoring is 100 points per quarter
