THERMATUBEpreinsulatedpipesandfittingsofHermansTechniekNLBVareproducedbyan
internationaltopmanufacturerandareusedintheconstructionofheatingandcoolingnetworks,which
servetotransmitheatingmediumfromthesourceofpowertotheplaceofdelivery.Preinsulatedpipes
andfittingscanworkatthetemperatureofupto149Cwiththepossibilityofexceedingthis
temperaturebyupto150Cover100hoursatonesingletimewithoperatingpressureofupto2,5MPa.
THERMATUBEpreinsulatedpipesandfittingscanbeinstalledfortransmissionofutilityhotand
coldwater,steamandothermediainbuildingengineering(general,housingandindustrysectors).
THERMATUBEpreinsulatedpipesandfittingsareacombinedconstructionconsistingofasteel
Mainpipelocatedcentrallyinaprotectivecoatmadeofpolyethylene(PE)ofhighdensityand
polyurethane(PUR)thermalinsulationfillingupthespacebetweenthepipes.
Instandardproduction,pipesare6and12metreslongwithdiameter(DN)ofupto1000mm.Ends
ofTHERMATUBEpreinsulatedpipesandfittingsarenotinsulatedwithinthelengthof150mm()20mm
fordiametersofuptoDN200,andwithinthelengthof200mm()30mmfordiametersofDN250and
greater.
THERMATUBEpreinsulatedpipesandfittingsmeettherequirementsofthefollowingstandards:
PNEN253,PNEN448,PNEN488,PNEN489,PNEN14419HeatdistributionnetworkSystemof
preinsulatedcombinedpipesforwaterheatdistributionnetworksplaceddirectlyinground,andEN
13941Designingandconstructionofheatdistributionnetworkswithasystemofcombinedpreinsulated
pipes.
Usabilityoftheproductcommerciallyavailableunderthename:THERMATUBEpreinsulated
pipesandfittingswithasteelMainpipeforundergroundheatingnetworksinbuildingengineeringhas
beenapprovedbasedonTechnicalApprovalNoAT/2006021565issuedbytheResearchand

3.
PIPELINELEAKDETECTIONSYSTEM
THERMATUBE preinsulated pipes and fittings can be equipped with an installation of a pipeline
leak detection system. The installation consists of wires which are built in the thermal insulation. The
systemmonitorstheentirelengthofapipelineandsignalisesanyplacesofthermalinsulationmoistness.
4.
GENERALRULESOFINSTALLINGPREINSULATEDPIPESINGROUND
Preinsulatedpipesandfittingsareplaceddirectlyingroundinnarrowexcavationsonatleast10cm
thick sand beds. Before steel Main pipes are welded, elements of joint assembly providing thermal
insulationneedtobeinstalledateachjoint.
After Main pipes have been welded and all leak tightness tests have been conducted, thermal
insulationandjointairtightsealingneedtobecompleted.
Areadynetworkmadeofpreinsulatedpipesissubjecttotechnicalacceptance.Afterthat,itisbackfilled
withsand(atleast10cmabovetheuppersurfaceofpipessurface).Thesandbedandbackfillingmustbe
thickenedinordertoprovideuniformconditionsofworkforapipeline.Havingstabilisedthebackfilling,
theentirepartofanexcavationshouldbefilledinwithsubsoil.Minimumcoveringofapipelineis40cm.

QUALITYASSURANCE
Designing,developmentprocesses,manufacture,delivery,installationandserviceofTHERMA
TUBE preinsulated pipes and fittings for underground heating networks are supervised by quality and
environmentalmanagementsystemswhichmeetalltherequirementsofPNENISO9001:2001andPN
ENISO14001:2005.
TheCERTIFICATE OF QUALITY AND ENVIRONMENTAL SYSTEMSNo. JS96/3/2006,issuedby
thePolishCentreofResearchandCertificationinWarsaw,provesthatourproductsandservicesfulfilall
requirementsoftheabovementionedstandards.
