Drill Pipe Shearing Requirements

The minimum shearing configurations needed for each size U BOP to meet the requirements of the second edition of API 16A are listed in the following chart. Each
shearing configuration is capable of shearing the corresponding pipe at a closing
pressure equal to or less than 2800 psi.
