GENERAL SITUATION
Overall production of Aquaculture increased by 8.75% compared to last years same
quarter. Brackishwater fishpond recorded an increase of 18.80% due to absence of white
spot/luminous bacteria and also due to the increase in area harvested cased by good salinity of
water. Freshwater fish cages also increased by 8.73% due to the increase in area harvested,
less mortality rate and good quality of water evident by the absence of sulfur.
Meanwhile, Seaweeds production decreases by 8.39% due to no production for
caulerpa. (Seedlings were melted due to hot weather condition during planting period.)

I. GENERAL SITUATION
Production of Commercial Fisheries dropped by (19.61%) compared to last years
production. It was due to the decrease in number of fishing boats in operation particularly in the

I. GENERAL SITUATION
Production of Inland Municipal Fishing decreased by (35.20%) compared to the same
quarter last year. The decrease was due to less number of fishing activities and decrease in
number of fishing boats in operation caused by polluted water (digman grass from Taal Lake). It
was also affected by less number of fishing operations by fishermen using beach seine (pukot)
and also no production of freshwater crab (talangka) non occurrence during this quarter.
