70 % for paper, graded by 2 readers
30 % participation at seminar sessions and presentation
Grade for both parts required Not attending seminar
sessions as required and not giving presentation = no
grade (NA)
The second examination attempt is limited to submitting
the course work. Participation and/or presentation cannot
be retaken.
No BA paper year. (If re-taken, new topic)
Pass BA programme = pass the BA paper with seminar

Seminar sessions

Introductory session (, 1st semester, week 1 or 2): introduction to topic and approach

4 Seminar sessions (1st semester, weeks 2-5 or 3-6): reading and discussion of the
philosophical texts in class . One seminar session can be given as a lecture course.

1-2 Feedback session(s) (1st semester, week 7 or 8): discussion of research topic,
abstract, literature. Each student has to upload these three at least 1 week before
session.

Try out presentation session(s): 2nd semester, 2 weeks before presentation

BA paper: formal requirements

The instructor/coordinator of the option you choose supervises your paper.

+ the formal criteria checklist, signed by the student (not bound with the paper
but inserted in each hard copy)

The BA paper should be minimum 6250 and maximum 7500 words long not including the table of contents, bibliography, and footnotes or
endnotes and has to be typed, 1.5 spaced and bound. The word count has
be indicated at the end of the paper and the word count limits have to be
respected. The recommended font is Times New Roman 12pt and the
recommended format is A4. The BA paper can be printed on single or doublesided pages. The BA paper must be written in correct English, and contain a
coherent system of footnotes or endnotes.

BA paper must contain the following: title page (please use the template); table
of contents; bibliography;

BA Paper
Submission
For the 2nd exam session: Monday, 23 May, 2016, 5pm
For the 3rd exam session: Tuesday, 16 August 2016, 5pm
At the Student Secretariat; 2 hard copies of the paper (bound) + 2 hard
signed copies of the checklist
You also upload the BA paper electronically twice in Toledo : for
library archive and in Turnitin (software system for plagiarism check)
Please keep in mind that the BA paper that is not submitted as
required (in hard copy and uploaded electronically twice in Toledo, as
set out above), by the deadline (date and time), will not be accepted
for submission.
