Dear All,
September has got special significance in Pakistani history. Tomorrow (6 th Sept) Pakistan will celebrate
Defence day followed by the great Quaids death anniversary on 11 th September. This year annual
pilgrimage (Hajj will be in the same week) and so is Eidul Azha on 12 th September.
As announced last week, the Eid Barbecue was supposed to be held at Kings Park, Synergy section
however we have received an email from a student which did touch our heart.

The comments are really appreciated and as the President of the group I have decided to hold the
Barbecue at my place on 12th September from 5.30 pm onwards. We expect to start the BBQ at 6.30
pm. Please feel free to come and do rsvp and Eid Mubarak.

SENIORS WEEK GRANT

We have submitted the senior weeks grant for the annual poetry evening on 12 th November and are
waiting for the outcome.

RESEARCH INTEREST
Zulqarnain Gilani is a Research Associate in School of Computer
Sciences and Software Engineering in University of Western
Australia, Perth. His team has, for the first time, developed a
mathematical model of 3D Morphometric Face Analysis.
Zulqarnain is interested in looking for subtle cues in the 3D face
that point to syndromes like Autism or diseases like Obstructive
Sleep Apnoea. If you want to know more about his research

CONGRATULATIONS
Congratulations to Arham Hashmi from Adelaide who is selected in 2016
Australian Junior Under 15 Cricket team. Arham has been playing
exceptional cricket from a very young age and will be a valuable asset for
Australian Team.
Congratulations are also due to Salman Saeed on his nomination for
Australian of the year Award. Salman is also nominated for Humanitarian
Effort Award later this year from Pakistan Achievement Awards International
to be held in UK.
