JAMBO Families!!!
Welcome to the 2016-17 WOLOF

VILLAGE school-year!!!!

My name is Becky Burton-Reed but folks call me Mama Bey. As an

educator, I have over 18 years of working with youth programs under my belt. I
am married with three children. I have been an Elementary Teacher for the past 3
years. This will be my 3rd year with Timbuktu Academy.
My Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication was received from Michigan
State University in 1993. In 2002, I returned to school to receive my Teacher
Certificate and Master of Arts Degree in Teaching from Wayne State University in
2010. I have an Educational Endorsement in both English/Language Arts (ELA) and
Education Technology.
As a teacher I take education very SERIOUSLY and expect for parents and
students to do the same. What I do means NOTHING without your support!!!
Studies have PROVEN that without PARENTAL/FAMILY PARTICIPATION students
are NOT positively impacted by school. Students learn when their parents care
about them learning.
