Introduction
Soil Classification practical contained three main elements. Firstly, to prepare the soil sample
followed by Sieve analysis of coarse fraction obtained from the soil sample and then
determination of Atterberg Limits using the fine fraction. The practical was conducted in two
groups of 8 members or so. Each of the groups were allocated a soil type.
Most of the preparation of soil sample was done before the practical started to optimize the
short amount of time.
