MALAYSIA
Malaysia is rich for various cultures. Muslims
celebrate Hari Raya Puasa which falls in the month of
Syawal. In the morning they pray in the mosque. Later,
they receive guests with varieties of cakes, biscuits,
Rendang and Ketupat.
Chinese New Year also known as the Spring
Festival. It is the most important celebration for Chinese
on New Years Eve, families gather to eat large
traditional meal. They set off fireworks which are

believed to frighten away evil spirits. Children will be


given a red envelope with money. That is called as Ang
Pao.
Deepavali is the festival of lights for Indians. During
Deepavali they light lamps for good health and wealth.
They clean their homes, and decorate with painted rice
(Kolam). Children light fireworks and adults buy new
clothes and sweets. Every Malaysian celebrates their
festival peacefully.
