Grading will be done on a cumulative points system. Tests will be worth 60-100 points, quizzes 5-40 points,
classwork and nightly homework 2-10 per assignment. The point values for lab work and projects will be
announced when the assignment is given. Grades will be regularly updated through in MMS. Homework will be
assigned on a regular basis and is due at the beginning of the class period. Missed homework may be turned in
one day late for partial credit.
Classroom Rules
Above all else, respect is most important in my classroom. Respect the classroom, teacher, fellow students, and
subject matter. Safety is also incredibly important, especially in a laboratory setting. Listen closely to
instructions and follow all safety rules. All school rules apply- please refer to the Student Handbook for the
school cheating policy, hat and dress code policy, social eligibility policy, and electronic devices/cell phones
policy.
Attendance
Regular attendance is a must in this and any class. When the bell rings you should be seated and ready to begin
working. Please arrive prepared with your binder and a writing utensil. In the event of a single absence, work
that was due on that day must be passed in the following day. For an extended absence, work must be made up
within 10 days of returning to school. All class notes and worksheets will be posted on the class website,
www.MrsByrnesClassroom.weebly.com
Extra Help & Make-up Work
After school help and make-up days will be posted on the board every Monday for the upcoming week. At a
minimum, I will be after school every Thursday until 2:45.
