University Choir

Gita Pracalita
School of Technology State Electricity Company (STT-PLN) Gita Pracalita Choir is one of
STT-PLNs largest extracurricular activities that encourages all students from the entire
university with an interest in singing to participate. Gita Pracalita proudly continues the alreadyestablished tradition of musical excellence, with the focus on the art of singing, the preservation
of traditional Indonesian folk songs, imbued with the spirit of nationalism.
Gita Pracalita Choir was founded in 2002, and since then continues to see steady growth. It has
grown to its present membership of 40 voices and has been regularly involved in numerous
performances with high artistic singing. The choir is also a place for students to broaden their
musical horizons and provides a wonderful opportunity to meet other gifted musicians.
Every academic year, Gita Pracalita Choir has the honor to perform at the commencement
ceremony at STT-PLN and at the matriculation ceremony of incoming students of STT-PLN. The
choir has also been invited to perform at seminars held by many campus groups and student
organizations at STT-PLN. Furthermore, it has also entered various choir competitions around
the country.
Since its founding in 2003, Gita Pracalita Choir was under the direction of Indra Tarore. In 2014,
the position was then passed on to Janet Larasati Widyaningrum. Janet had also previously
coached the Indonesian Children and Youth Choir Cordana (PSAI Cordana).

2005
1st consolation prize winner at the Sekopertis Wilayah III Jakarta Choir Competition.
2006
Awarded the Indonesia World Records Museum (MURI) for its participation at the 100 Tahun
Karya Ismail Marzuki Choir Competition.
2014
2nd place winner at Customs Choir Competition 2014, Bea Cukai Jakarta.
Bronze medal prize in the Female and Folklore categories at the VIII SAPTA GITA USM Choir
Competition.
2015
Silver medal prize at Karangturi Choir Competition 2015.
