Classroom Policies and Procedures

~Mrs. Marinellos Class~

Language Arts, Literature, & Social Studies
Welcome back to school! Lets work together to make this a wonderful year.
Classroom Rules:
1. Treat everyone with respect.
2. Come to class prepared.
Every day: binder, blue or black pens, pencil, homework
Check the board! (sometimes you will need to bring a textbook, workbook,
vocabulary book, or literature text)
3. Have a positive attitude.
4. Always do your best.
Classroom Procedures:
1. When you come into our classroom you are to take your homework from the night before.
2. Copy down the new homework assignment in your planner
3. Please have your binder and books on your desk, as well as pen/pencil.
Test/Quiz Policy
Tests and quizzes will always be announced in advance. Test grades will be counted twice,
and quiz grades will be counted once. Many classroom projects will count as quiz grades.
*The parent portal on Power School is a great tool to use to keep track of your grades.
Homework Policies:
Everyone starts off with a 100% homework grade that will be counted toward your average.
If you do not bring in an assignment the day it is due, two points will be deducted from your
homework grade. Two additional points will be deducted if the assignment is not
brought in the following day. Your homework average with be counted as a TEST grade
at the end of each trimester. This can make or break your grade!!
Assignments:
I expect everyone to try their best at all times. When handing in assignments, it should be
written neatly with the proper heading at the top of your paper.

*If I do not think you put in your best effort with an assignment, it will be given
back to you, and you will be asked to re-do the assignment. Please take pride in
your work, and in yourself.

Absent/Late Policy
If you are absent from school, it is your responsibility to come to me the day that you return
to get any missed work and assignments.
1. You are responsible to copy missed notes from a classmate.
2. If you were absent on the day an assignment was due, I expect that assignment to be
emailed to me the day it was due, or submitted to me the day you return.
3. If you missed a test or a quiz, you need to notify me, and we will set up another time
for you to take it. If you do not notify me, you will receive a zero for that
test/quiz.
If you are late to class, you are also responsible to make up and missed work. My class page
on the St. Annes School website is also available to check the homework assignments and
also to become aware of any announcements of upcoming tests, quizzes, and projects.
