Bachelor of Engineering with Honours


These regulations must be read in conjunction with the Academic Regulations (Taught
Courses).These regulations are available by going online to the Open University Essential

Entry requirements
None (Q65)
Entry to the top-up route (Q78) requires the award of the Open University Foundation Degree
in Engineering, the Open University Diploma of Higher Education in Engineering, the Open
University Foundation Degree in Materials Fabrication and Engineering or the Open
University Diploma of Higher Education in Materials Fabrication and Engineering. This
qualification must have been completed within the 8 years prior to registration for the BEng
(Honours).
Maximum duration of study
12 years except where credit transfer has been awarded or entry is via the top-up route, in
which case the time to complete the OU credit will be as follows:

120 credits to complete: 5 years


150-180 credits to complete: 6 years
210-240 credits to complete: 7 years
270-300 credits to complete: 8 years
330 credits to complete: 9 years

120 credits from the specified compulsory modules
Stage 2 (120 credits)
120 credits from the specified compulsory modules
Stage 3 (120 credits)
