3.6 Obligations
Injector Testing

Due to the design of the VDO CR Injectors and the requirements of how these CR
Injectors need to be electrically driven it is possible that the build-in Piezo Ceramic
could be pre-damaged in case of any inappropriate handling or testing. The CR
Injector could be set into an undefined condition which could lead to a damage of the
CR Injector itself or even lead to subsequent damages on the engine.

Continental approved test plans for certain CR Injectors do currently exclusively exist
for the Hartridge Cri-PC. Due to quality reasons we recommend to use the Hartridge
Cri-PC for testing purposes.

Continental is aiming to approve injector test benches from other manufacturers as

well. Though an approval is currently only available for the Hartridge Cri-PC as
mentioned above.

We kindly ask for your understanding that Continental refuses any liability for the
negative consequences of the usage of test benches from other manufacturers.

2 different pumps operating on different supply pressures (2 and 6 bars), BUT flange
mechanically similair, so that the wrong pump might be mounted

To allow the most reliable identification of the correct replacement pump the
catalogue information in TecDoc might not be sufficient. Before the mounting the
OEM article number shall be checked and the pump should be visually compared
with the originally build-in CR Diesel Pump
