Bright Elementary MS IPad/ Chromebook Guide

Introduction: Technology will be integrated throughout the curriculum to prepare our students with the skills
necessary to become successful in the 21st century. Through technology integration, students will be able to:
1. Explore and solve real world issues using digital resources
2. Collaborate and share their thinking and creative processes to make meaning of new content
3. Engage in differentiated digital activities to meet the needs of ALL learners
4. Develop digital citizenship to safely and ethically use the web
5. Create authentic products using digital tools
Terms of Agreement: Using technology at Bright is a privilege, not a right. Students and parents must
agree to use the Chromebooks and iPads for education purposes only. Any communication or data may be
subject to review by the school administrator.
Wallpaper, Background, and Photos: Inappropriate pictures and videos used as a background photo,
saved photo, or wallpaper are unacceptable. Inappropriate pictures include: guns, other weapons,
pornographic materials, vulgar language, alcohol, drugs, gang related images, etc. Usage of inappropriate
media will result in disciplinary actions according to the code of conduct.
Video, Sound, Music, and Games: Music, videos, and sound are not allowed on any devices unless approved by
the teacher. Devices must be muted at all times. Games are not to be installed on devices or accessed using the
Internet. Students will lose technology privileges if there is failure to follow the video, sound, music, and game
policy.
Email: Students will be provided with their CPS email. Only CPS email accounts can be accessed on the devices.
Personal emails are prohibited.
Care of devices:
1.

Devices must remain on desks at all times.

2. Devices should never be dropped, tossed, or stepped on.

3. Food or drinks should not be near devices.
4. All devices must remain in the school / designated classroom at all times.
5. Screens will be cleaned with gentle cloth. NO LIQUID CLEASERS will be used to clean devices.
6. Cords and cables will be carefully inserted and stored.

I will follow guidelines outlined in the Chromebook/iPad technology guide.
My parent and I will be responsible for all damages or loss caused by neglect or abuse.
