Mr.

Kashif Khan,
President,
Global Entrepreneurial Week

Dear Sir,
Heart touching beats, stunning visually appealing couture, colors of nature in masterpieces,
rhythms and traditional food. One word that comes to our mind is CULTURE. Something we
value, get inspired from, share, learnt and teach. One cant have a second view about
Culture;
YES
we
simply
are
proud
of
our
culture.
With this brief start, allow us to introduce ourselves Mohenjoz, Pakistan first
e commerce market place having an ambition of promoting Pakistan Culture across the
globe. Mohenjoz is striving to assist artisans and crafters of Pakistan to expose their
masterpieces to rest of the world. The first step has already been taken by launching
mohenjoz.com, the first ever PayPal enabled Pakistani web site that provides assistance to
less privileged crafters of Pakistan through able guidance and facilitation.
Considering and observing the facts, Mohenjoz has realized that there is a dire need of
unifying otherwise stand alone efforts towards promoting cultural entrepreneurship and
social empowerment. This can be done through bringing all stakeholders together in an
organized and collaborative manner as well as mobilizing masses towards our rich heritage.
Attached please find a detailed proposal towards first ever Pakistan Cultural
Entrepreneurship Expo, designed and planned by Mohenjoz at Islamabad, Pakistan. The
expo has been titled as PAKISTAN ENTREPRENEURIAL ARTS AND CULTURAL EXPO 2014
(PEACE-14) having a vision Pur Aman - Pur Azam - Hunermand Pakistan
This proposal will be followed by a request for a personal meeting and presentation where
further details can be shared towards collaborations. We believe this ambition of projecting
cultural entrepreneurship of Pakistan and developing a synergy with world culture will bring
about significant value for stakeholders at large in general and both of us in particular.

We really appreciate you for considering this proposal and thanking you in anticipation for
your positive benevolent response.

Respectfully,

Aijaz Shahid

Encl.; Detailed Proposal of Pakistan Entrepreneurial Arts And Cultural Expo (PEACE-14)

Mohenjoz
Pakistans first ever e-commerce solution for arts and crafts
Mohenjoz, a term derived from Mohenjo Daro; a rich cultural site of the ancient Indus
civilization of subcontinent, is Pakistans first ever e-commerce marketplace dedicated for
promoting art and crafts of the country. Mohenjoz carries a vision PurAman-PurAzamHunarmand Pakistan. It is a platform for Artists and craftsmen of Pakistan where they can
showcase their master pieces, open their online stores, interact to the world directly, learn
new techniques, improve their art and most importantly sell their products online anywhere
in the world.

A platform which is supporting to the under privileged Artists and Craftsmen, especially the
women entrepreneurs engaged in Art and craft business. Mohenjoz assist Pakistani artist
and craftsmen in three core areas, promotion, shipping and receiving international
payments, using PayPal facility on the site. This way we are striving to uplift the lives of
those thousands of families living below poverty line just because they dont get proper
exposure due to lack of basic education or awareness.

Background
Pakistan is the land of love, peace and harmony in collaboration with enormous resources
and opportunities. Its artists and craftsmen are revealing wonders by creating master pieces
in various fields i.e. Baluchi Khadi, Sindhi Ajrak, Swati Shawls, Khaddar of Kamalia, Chinioti
Furniture, Truck Art, Blue Pottery from Multan, Ceramics of Gujrat and Salt Lamps from
Khewra etc. spellbound the spectators..
Pakistans rich cultural heritage and its hospitality has always been a great attraction for the
tourists but unfortunately due to insufficient resources and the sense of insecurity being the
victim of terrorism in the country; the tourism has reduced considerably in the last 10 years
or so; the adverse implications are not only hitting the tourism industry but also to the allied
industries like arts and handicraft
Much has been done and still to be done towards culture, sustainability and mobilizing
stakeholders. Pakistan lacks unified activities and attention towards nurturing the cultural
entrepreneurship concept, neither had we ever tried to create and project cultural brands.
Government departments and some private institutions has been putting up stand alone
activities as exhibitions, Cultural Melas and facilitations towards arts and crafts across
country but this requires much exhaustive efforts as such events and activities are not only
stand alone but lacking a long lasting impact fullness.

Pakistan Entrepreneurial Arts & Cultural Expo

In order to play an effective role in portraying the real positive, hospitable and peaceful
Pakistan along with highlighting the arts and crafts of the motherland, Mohenjoz has
planned an event named Pakistan Entrepreneurial Arts & Cultural Expo (PEACE) in the
