Chapter 1
Depression hit really hard but Boy Staunton manages to survive
and thrive with his sugar and sugar substitutes
Leola continues to be unfit for Boy as she again and again
disappoints him

Chapter 2
Dunstan continues to visit Ms. Dempster and Ms. Shanklin
introduces him to Orpheus Wettenhall, her lawyer
Ms. Shanklin soon passes away and Dunstan is entrusted with
5000 dollars if he agrees to be Ms. Dempsters guardian.

Dunstan discovers a group of Jesuits, Bollandists, and they invite


Dunstan to write for them

Dunstan worries that they wont accept him since hes not
Christian but they do with politeness
Dunstan became close with elderly priest Padre and he shares
his beliefs on Marys miracles and Padre asks why does Dunstan
care about the Churchs views
o A Miracle can be judged subjectively and still be Legit

Blazon believes that Mary is very important to Dunstan as a

Chapter 4
Leola eventually discovers Boys affairs
Leola later tries to seduce Dunstan but he refuses

Leola leaves and Dunstan learns that she tried to commit suicide
Leola survives but gives up on life
