Facilities Update...Whats New?

...Quite a bit, actually! Our new sanctuary seating arrived on Sept. 8. At 8:30 a.m.,
Carl Farrar was first on the scene to greet the truck driver. By 9 a.m. many more had
arrived and began the work of lifting each chair down
from the truck. It wasnt long after that an assembly
line formed to unwrap packing material and attach the
wire-book holders. In record time, all chairs were positioned in place by 2:00 p.m. all 250 of them. Wow!
We have these folks to thank for making time in their
schedule for this event: Carl Farrar, John & Susan
Pauls, John Williams, Matt Sturtevant, Jim Lord, Kelly
Johnson, Verlin & Susanne Gilbert, Bill Stauffer, Anne
Munsterman, Bryan & Christy Miller, Wendy Wheeler
& Sally Heilman. (And to those weve missed naming,
we apologize and thank you as well!)
Also new to our sanctuary is a set of projectors. FBC recently made an investment to modernize our audio-visual technology (although well never forget
how much fun it was to roll out the rattling projector cart with the lens
covered with paper and the extension cord stretched across the aisle)! After the fabulous work done by the contractor, Cytek, the FBC sanctuary
now sports not one, but two ceiling mounted projectors for projecting on
both the east and west walls, allowing easy viewing from anywhere in the
congregation. We look forward to enhancing the live and recorded worship experience with the incorporation of this updated technology.

Wednesday Night Update (Sept. 7)

*Two-Way Life Group
Wednesday night was a wonderful opportunity for the congregation and Pastor Matt to share a profound and meaningful two-way conversation about the most recently-preached sermon, as well as the Scripture passage for the upcoming
sermon. Appropriately named Two-Way, this small group meets from 6:45-7:30 p.m. is open to any who would like to
share in the formation prior to Pastor Matts sermons and the continuing conversation following them. ~Pastor Matt
*Sacred Music Academy (for 3rd through 8th graders):
We have 14 (maybe more?) very enthusiastic ringers & singers this fall. They had so much fun learning a new technique on the bellshow to use malletsand by the end of the month they will have mastered a new round-song they are
learning. Michaela Schenkel will be a great assistant to us this year-thank you Michaela! Theres still plenty of room, so
invite a friend or two! ~Evelyn Falen

Womens Ministry
All FBC women and
friends!
Friendship Square will resume
meeting TOMORROW NIGHT
at 7:00 p.m., at the home of Ginger Boring (1502 Stevens
Rd., Eudora KS). We will study the final chapter of our
book, Outlive Your Life, by Max Lucado. Please bring some
ideas about what our next book study might be! Want to
see The Square take on some different tasks or programs
this year? Bring those ideas too! If you have questions,
please contact Anne Munsterman, 393-1676.
