KAISER PERMANENTE, California Region 01/2008 to 9/2015
One of the largest non-profit health care organizations in the United States, with over 10 million
members and $56B+ revenue in 2015. Beside other medical facilities in Hawaii, Mid-Atlantic, Maryland
and Georgia, Kaiser in California is divided into two regions North & South with combined medical
hospitals of over 30 and 80 medical offices.
Senior Project Manager Pasadena, CA (11/2013 to 2015) Full time
Oversaw deployment of the Epic Hospice Billing system in the Southern California region.
Key Initiative: Strategically repositioned the multimillion dollar project back on track and earned
the support of Stakeholders and Senior Level management for this regional technological
deployment
Successfully salvaged the project from being cancelled & rebuilt the team of 25 professionals (IT
developers, Clinical Project Managers, IT testing team, Business Analysts\Support teams), 10 indirect
reports from Residence Agencies, Clinics & offshore team from India via leadership by soul.
Earned Stakeholders trust & collaborated with developers and testing teams to determine
appropriate strategies for meeting the identified needs.
Formulated a detailed Visio timeline for the project life cycle comprising development, testing,
training, go-live, and post-launch support. Provided comprehensive documentation of all phases of
the project, including progress tracking, new requirements, risk assessment and mitigation, issue
escalation and leadership reporting. Liaised with budgeting, financial and resource planning staff.
Ensured compliance with all standards, policies and regulatory requirements; coached staff and
resolved any issues that arose.
Took over the faltering project which was behind schedule, over budget and suffering from
lack of strategic direction and documentation, as well as from entrenched stakeholder
resistance; overcame all obstacles to deliver on time and within the revised budget through

Home Health\Hospice Billing projects budgeted for over $15 million. I brought it back alive and
to completion within tight timeline.
Successful timely executive reporting and presentation to Leadership review group
Led deployment and implementation of Cerner laboratory applications. With two major labs in
Northern California serving 94 facilities and 100,000 specimens daily, the complexities involved from
Clinical, anatomic pathology, molecular diagnostics to laboratory outreach deserved systematic
automated solutions.
With projected budget of $5 million and a 55 strong team encompassing Lead (Cerner) trainers,
Business analysts, project managers, CLS and support staff, this project was successfully deployed
within timeline and budget thus enabling automated pathology processes with easy tracking,
monitoring & synoptic reporting.
Concurrent projects included many smaller projects of less than a million for Clinical documentation,
HL7 applications, Foundations, Tapestry and resolutions of support tickets.
Guided project teams in strategic deployment planning, infrastructure assessment, testing and user
trainings. Provided system, business and technical troubleshooting/problem resolution; ensured rapid
response and peak quality customer service.
Spearheaded numerous innovative application deployment strategies that reduced work time
by 90% and lowered costs by 30%.
