The Corpse Bride Plot Diagram

Opening/Exposition

Here we start the movie off with Victor, the main character. It's the late 18th century and Victor to be
arranged to wed Victoria because both families are poor and hope that their children marrying would
give either parents money that they both desperately need.
Rising Action

As Victor was walking in the woods trying to practice and memorize his vows so he can wed Victoria
whom he really loves. He places the ring on a branch that resembles a hand. As he finishes his vows he
then realizes he has awakened the corpse bride and runs with fear. This causes a trail of unfortunate
events.

Climax

The climax of the story is when Victor claims his suicide so he can be wed to Emily(the corpse bride)
so she'll never be alone again. But then the villain of the story, Barkis Bittern, drinks the wine not
knowing it'll kill you. It kills him, therefore leaving the dead to deal with him forever.
Falling Action

The falling action is when finally Victor and Victoria are finally get married and everyone has a reunion
with their dead family members.
Resolution/Denouement

The resolution is when Emily, the corpse bride, is now finally at peace. This causes her to wither away
in a blur of butterflies.
