HEAD COACH KENYA SEVENS NATIONAL TEAM, KENYA RUGBY UNION

Kenya Rugby Union (Union) is the governing body of Rugby Union in Kenya. It controls and
administers the game of rugby in Kenya. It also organizes national teams and various
competitions. It is a member of World Rugby.
The Board of the Union is desirous of filling the position of the Head Coach, Kenya Sevens
National Team accountable to the Board through the Chief Executive Officer and the
Director of Rugby for the effective overall management of the Kenya Sevens Team. The
appointed person will coach the team, on and off the field, to a standard of excellence,
demonstrating a significant improvement over each annual period of centralization,
enhancing the reputation of the Kenya Rugby Union. The Head Coach will report to the
National Squads Management Committee through the Director of Rugby.
Who we are looking for
The Head Coach should have a minimum of 3 years of experience as a Head Coach in a
division one club /Elite Squad

Relevant World Rugby qualifications in Coaching

Demonstration of high ethical standards and integrity in his/her personal and
professional dealings.
Outstanding communication skills, responsive to the needs of the partners and
sponsors.
An ability to work independently without supervision but in accordance with
documented policy and procedure guidelines;
A record of working as a team member, as well as a history of performing in
situations that require self-leadership and initiative;
An ability to balance team needs and goals with those of the administration of Kenya
Rugby Union;
Demonstration of a commitment to aspects of high performance, player
development and talent identification
A background that displays people management , people leadership skills, attributes
and good conduct;
A background that displays excellent stakeholder relations and workplace cooperation;
Able to effectively document plans including season plans, broken down into daily
and weekly.
