Dear Rebecca Baldwin,
I am graduating in May. I really think you should get a liberal arts degree. I
know that you are really busy working and being a young mom. DMACC is a really
good college to attend. Liberal arts degree can help you have a better
understanding of what you want to do for your life. The Liberal Arts Degree has a
lot of choices of classes for you to choose from to help you to choose what degree
you will like. With a Liberal Arts Degree you can transfer to a different college to
continue on with your education.
There are a lot of ways for you to afford to attend DMACC. You get loans or
make payments to attend. The advisors at DMACC are very helpful. They can help
you get loans and find degrees that can you fit your needs. A college degree can
help you support you and your son. There are a lot of careers or colleges that want
people to have a liberal arts degree.
One of the articles that I read about liberal arts degree it made me learn a lot
about the degree. I found this article very interesting. I hope that you found this
article very interesting also. This article is called The New Liberal Arts and is
written by Sanford J. Ungar. In this article explains how important is to have a
college education. There are two statistics that tells how important a liberal arts
degree is. A 2009 survey for the Association of American Colleges and Universities

actually found that more than three-quarters of our nations employers recommend
that college bound students pursue a liberal education.(pg. 192). I found this very
interesting because I didnt know that there are a lot of jobs that want people to
have a liberal education. The other statistic I found interesting is about how career
people think about liberal education. An astounding 89 percent said they were
looking for more emphasis on the the ability to effectively communicate orally and
in writing, and almost as many urged the development of better critical thinking
and analytical reasoning skills. Seventy percent said they were on the lookout for
the ability to innovate and be creative.(pg. 192).
I hope that you enjoy reading this letter. I hope this letter help you to get a
college education. I hope that you found this article very interesting. I am really
proud of you. You are great mother to your son and you have grown up a lot.
Love Always,
Lyndi Baldwin

Dear Mr. Fink,
Thanks for being my advisor throughout my high school education. You have
taught me a lot throughout the years. Thanks for supporting me going to college.
You are very special to me. I really enjoy you helping me out when I need help. You
always support your students and help them out when they need it.
I hope that you keep telling your students to attend to college. I think college
education is really important for people to have. More people should attend a
community college to get their college education since it is very cheap. Community
college is a great way to save money to attend a four year college and meeting new
people.
I am learning a lot at DMACC. I think it is very important to attend a two year
college first because you can take some classes to get away when you transfer to a
four year college. I think two year colleges are better than four colleges because
there are small classes and you can get a lot of help when you need it. More people
should attend two year colleges before attending a four year colleges so they can

have a chance to explore their options and to see if college is the right thing from
them.
One of the articles that I read for composition two talks a lot about two year
colleges and four year colleges and it made me think a lot about colleges. This
article is very interesting. This article is called Two Years are Better Than Four and
is written by Liz Addison. There is lot information that I found interesting. For some
students, from many backgrounds, would never breathe the college experience if it
were not for the community college. (pg. 214). I found this interesting because it
is very true. Two year colleges have more people that are graduating than four year
colleges. Thomas Jefferson once wrote that Everyone should have an education
proportional to their life. (pg. 212). I found this very interesting because it is very
important to have an education that can help with you future.
I hope you enjoy reading this letter. You will always be very important to me.
I hope you are having fun teaching. Have a wonderful school year. Talk to you soon.
Always your student,
Lyndi Baldwin
