1. SUMMARY
The main objective of this report is to determine an appropriate design to modify the existing no-watertight
deck 8250 AB a watertight deck, allowing access to personnel and equipment.
Currently, the deck has openings in several sections where the pipeline passes, electrical cables and crew; also
has a circular cut where it was a cement silo. To be a watertight deck, it will be placed a structural plate of 3/8
thickness with flat bars of 8 x 3/8 as structural reinforcements; to round off the pipeline and electrical cables,
will placed sleeves and putty.
To access from the column to the pump room it will place a hatchway between the frame 22 and 23, with plate
of 5/8 thickness with flat bars of 8" x 5/8" and 8" x 3/8" as structural reinforcements, as well as a hatch will
place between frame 23 and 24.

2. INTRODUCTION
This report verifies the structural safety of deck 8250 above base line (deck 8250 AB) in IOLAIR SemiSubmersible Accommodation Vessel.
This brief analyzes the effects of a flood scenario on pump room or column, whichever is greater.
Is properly justified the deck structure can safely withstand a hydrostatic pressure due to a flooding on pump
room or column.

5. METHODOLOGY
5.1
DESCRIPTION
It is intended the pump room is watertight and has no communication with the column. To achieve the
objective, the deck 8250 above base line will be a watertight deck, closing all the existing access openings,
placing steel plate with structural reinforcements and sealing putty with hatch coaming.
Existing access openings are intended to make way for electrical cables, pipelines, silo and access to the pump
room.

BOUNDARY CONDITIONS
It is considered that the pressure that should support the deck will be equal to the pressure exerted by the
volume of water that may contain the pump room considering the height from pontoon deck to the tank top
(6.75 m), or the column considering the height from the pontoon deck to the platform bottom (15.25 m), which

7. CONCLUSIONS
Based on the analyses carried out, and the subsequent modifications to the critical structural details, it is
concluded that the stresses in the deck support structures are acceptable.
The maximum stresses in the module deck structure are found acceptable.
Misalignments of the structure have not been taking into account in any of the analyses.
