JOHN SEIDLITZ, founder and CEO of

Seidlitz Education, works with teachers around the country implementing

of the Navigating the ELPS series of books. Mr. Seidlitz
was also a contributing author for The SIOP Model
for Teaching History-Social Studies for English

Associate Professor of Bilingual/

Multicultural Education and
Biliteracy at the University of
Texas at San Antonio. He received
his Ph.D. from the University of
Arizona in Language, Reading, and Culture. His
research interests include dual language education
programs, multicultural childrens literature
and biliteracy. He is a co-editor of Multicultural
Literature for Latino Bilingual Children: Their
Words, Their Worlds. (2016). He contributes to
major research journals on matters of culture,
literacy and teacher preparation for educational
equity. Bilingual in English and Spanish, Smith
