16 September 2016

Dear Parent/Carer,

Target Setting Day Years 8, 9, 10 and 11

As part of our commitment to raising achievement and informing parents of student progress we
hold an annual Target Setting Day. This will take place on Tuesday 27 September 2016.
On this day, normal lessons will be suspended, and each student, accompanied by their
parent(s)/carer(s), will have a ten-minute interview with his Form Tutor. At the interview, there will
be an opportunity to discuss your son/wards target levels/grades for the year ahead, to analyse
his progress last year, and to set targets for the remainder of the year. The aim of this process is
to ensure that your son/ward achieves his full potential at Isleworth & Syon.
In order for us to be able to provide you with a suitable appointment time, we ask that you please
complete the online response form indicating the preferred time of day for the interview. You can
find the response form, as well as this letter, on www.isleworthsyon.org/tsd-2016. If a preferred
time is not indicated by the deadline - 7.00am on Wednesday 21 September then a time will be
selected for you.
If you have multiple children at the school, please only complete a form for your youngest child
and indicate the other children in the appropriate box Form Tutors can then attempt to coordinate interview times for your convenience.
You will be notified of the precise time in advance of the interview, via a note in your son/wards
Student Planner. Whilst we cannot guarantee to meet with you at your preferred time, we will do
our best to accommodate your choice. In exceptional circumstances, some staff may be able to
offer an appointment before 8.30am. Please indicate on the form if you would benefit from an
early appointment should they be available.
On the day, please arrive at least five minutes before the interview time and report to the sign-in
area in the school library, where paperwork and additional information will be issued prior to the
interview. Students should attend in full school uniform and should bring their Planner to note the
agreed targets.
I look forward to seeing you on Tuesday 27 September. We ask that you please complete the
response form by 7.00am on Wednesday 21 September at the latest.
Thank you for your support.
Yours faithfully,

Ms J Higginbottom
Deputy Headteacher
