ANSWER

COME NOW DEFENDANT ARNOLD, thru the undersigned

counsel, unto the Honorable Court, respectfully avers the
following facts to-wit:
1. On February 14, 2000, the defendant borrowed money
from the plaintif amounting to FIVE HUNDRED
THOUSAND PESOS (PHP 500,000.00) payable within a
period of one year;
Defendant admits to the allegations of paragraph
1.
2. Plaintif asked defendant to execute and sign a
promissory note specifying the amount loaned and the
one-year maturity date (Annex A Promissory Note);
Defendant specifically denies under oath the
genuineness and due execution of the alleged
promissory note in paragraph 3 of the plaintifs
complaint.
3. Upon the maturity of the loan and Plaintifs demand,
Defendant was not able to pay the said loan;
Defendant admits to the allegations of paragraph

4. Defendant Arnold refused to pay the said loan and

insisted that he be given a period of one-year to settle
the same by reason of his upcoming Silver Wedding
Anniversary;
Defendant admits to the allegations of paragraph
5.
5. In spite of repeated written and oral demands made by
Plaintif Roland, Defendant Arnold ignored the same and
still refused to settle his indebtedness;
Defendant denies the allegations of paragraph 7
as he did not ignore the repeated oral and written
demands made by plaintif and denies his refusal
to settle his obligation since he only asked for an
extension of its settlement.
PRAYER
WHEREFORE, it is respectfully prayed that,
1. The plaintifs complaint be dismissed with costs
against the plaintif.
2. Damages be awarded to him for the inconvenience
the baseless complaint has caused which amounts to
ONE HUNDRED FIFTY THOUSAND PESOS (PHP
150,000.00)
Defendant prays for such other relief that is just and
reasonable under the premises.
