membership, this class will be for you!
There will be a series of 3 classes: Oct. 2,
9, and 16, in the Nazareth Room from

See you Sunday, Oct. 2!

NORFOLK FOOD
PANTRY
The Norfolk Food
Pantry is staffed by
volunteers from St.
Johns (coordinated
by Shirley Frowick)
during September.
Please remember to keep all these folks in
your prayers while they serve as Gods
hands in our community. During the month,
we will continue to collect non-perishable
items in the boxes located throughout the
church. Also appreciated are monetary gifts
for the perishable items to be purchased.
Those donations can be received by marking
your envelope Food Pantry and placing it
in the offering plate on any weekend.
Thank you for your continued donations of
egg cartons and plastic grocery bags which
are used daily at the pantry.

New Worship Steward schedules will be

coming out soon. If you would like to help
out on a monthly rotation (or less) with
greeting, ushering, reading, communion
assistant, or sound/power point, please
contact the office as soon as possible by
email: midgehe@cableone.net.
or 402-371-1985.

FREE CONCERT

Church, 319 S. 5th St., Albion. The concert

BRIGHT HORIZONS
DIAPER DRIVE
During the month of
September, we will be
collecting disposable
diapers for Bright
Horizons. They are
especially in need of
sizes 4, 5, and 6. Look for the collection tote
in the west hallway near the peanut butter
pyramid. Thank you! Diapers cost approx.
$100/mo. and all daycare providers
REQUIRE disposable diapers. Your
donations are greatly appreciated!

We are changing the way we do our prayer list

at St. Johns. On Saturday Oct. 1 and Sunday
Oct. 2 we will begin two prayer lists. If you
have someone on the prayer list now you must
submit their name again for it to remain there.
1. To place anyone on the prayer list you
can write them on the registration slip or
2. e-mail St. Johns at
midgehe@cableone.net.
3. There will be two lists.
4. The first list is Prayer Concerns & Joys.
When you place a name on this list, it will
be listed for two weeks unless you request
up to 4 weeks.
5. The second list is Long Term Prayer
Concerns in which names will be left on for
3 months.
6. If you want names on longer or taken off
the list, please contact the office and ask for
Midge.
7. Please get the permission of any person
before you place their name on the
prayer list.
BENEFACTION BOARD of St. Johns Lutheran
Church met Aug 9th, 2016.
A presentation from Lutheran Family Services
educated us about the LFS At Ease program
that helps veterans with mental health issues.
They are working on a telepresence method from
their offices to the Northeast Nebraska area.
$4000 was given but we will request that LFS
report back to us in February to show how our
contributions are serving the veterans in our
area. Additional funding will be considered in
the future pending the development.
A request from Mercy Meals for food and
supplies in the amount of $2500 was approved.
A bill in the amount of $4232.50 was
approved and paid for 15 youth from our
congregation who attended camp at Camp Carol
Joy Hollling this past summer.
The Lutheran Magazine publication quarterly
bill in the amount of $529.23 was approved for
payment. The magazine is mailed to all registered
members of the congregation.
The next meeting will be on November 8, 2016 at
7:00 PM.
