EQUIPMENT OPERATORS TOOL BOX TALK

1. You must only operate machines of a type on which you have been trained
and authorized to use.
2. Before operating ensures that the machine is correctly maintained and the
weekly inspection register completed. Report all defects immediately.
3. Check Oil, Battery at frequent intervals.
4. Never exceed the safe working load.(SWL)
5. Obey warning devices and notices.
6. Do not react to signals from unauthorized persons except in an emergency.
7. Check for obstructions and men in the vicinity of the equipment.
8. See that your machine is serviceable and correctly maintained at all times.
9. Never carry passengers. It is illegal.
10. Before leaving the machines for any reason, always lower the bucket top
the ground and make sure the brakes and safety locks are on.
11. Work only with an authorized Banksman/Slinger and operate to his signals.
12. Working alongside power lines should not be under taken unless
authorized and closely supervised.
13. Ensure license and third party certificate validity.
14. Always travel with the load in the lowest practicable position. Do not raise
the load while travelling.
15. Use appropriate PPE.
16. Strict enforcement of speed limits.
17. Ensure loads securely bounded.
18. Establish and enforcement of site rules.
19. Wearing of high visibility clothing.
20. Maintain good housekeeping.
