The cable sizing has been calculated for LT cables to be used in the system considering AYFY/AYWY cables of respective ratings.
The length of the cables have been adopted on the higher side considering the end loop lengths for calculating the size and will be laid as per actual site conditions
The cable sizing for the motor has been worked out for the farthest motors from the panel and the same shall be used for all other motors of same rating.
The sizes of the cables have been selected such that the maximum voltage drop in the system is not more than 2.5% as required in the contract document.
Derating factors for the size of cables have been adopted for the temp. rise and grouping of the cable.
The current carrying capacity of cables has been considered as per the laying condition at site
The cables will be laid in trenches on cable trays in groups and in ground.
The following formulae have been used for the calculations of voltage drop in the cable
1 For three phase
Voltage drop =
Sqrt(3)xIxZxL/1000
Voltage drop =
2xIxZxL/1000
