Berdasarkan komposisi kimia di atas, barangan adalah non-alloy steel kerana ketiadaan element
aluminium, cobalt dan copper.
Works Product / Further worked.
Barangan yang diimport telah mengalami proses futherworked iaitu Special Edge. Special
Edge adalah merujuk kepada kepingan steel strip yang telah dikerjakan di bahagian tepi
menjadi bentuk bulat sebelum diimport. Dalam kes ini special edge yang dibentuk pada
bahagian tepi steel strip dinamakan Round Edge.

Hardened and Tempered Steel Strip
Hardened and Tempered Steel Strip (also known as hardened and tempered carbon spring
steel strip) are steel strips which can successfully undergo heat-treatment and have
approximately 0.60.99% carbon content. High carbon steel coils are very strong and are used
for springs and high-strength wires..
Hardened and Tempered Steel Strip is the basic raw material from which many different
components are made, substantially being spring-type applications ranging from clutch plate
segments to washers, retractor springs, cutting saws blade, toy springs, agriculture tools,
masonry tools etc.
Alloy steel and Non alloy-steel
Steel is common called carbon steel because of the mixture of carbon atoms with iron atoms.
The added elements provide the steel with ductility and strength. During the smelting process,
other elements, such as aluminum is added to the steel making it an alloy steel.
Non-alloy steel has no other elements (such as aluminium,cobalt,copper) added to the
steel/iron and carbon during the smelting process.

Once the first smelting process is performed, the steel still has too much carbon content to
become non-alloy steel. The smelting process is performed again and again until the carbon
content in the ore falls below 1.5 percent of the total content.
The non-alloy steel must be tempered at a certain temperature because it does not use other
elements to make it flexible and durable. Tempering non-alloy steel at a certain temperature
make the steel more sensitive to cracking when being welded.
Cold Rolling.
Cold rolling is a metalworking process that is used to increase the strength and hardness of
metal, such as copper or steel. A metal sheet or bar is passed through rollers at a controlled
weight well under its recrystallization temperature, which is usually at room temperature.
Although the cold rolling process increases the metal's strength and hardness it will also
decrease its ductility, which will result in a metal that is more prone to cracks and fractures.

Ketua Pengarah Kastam memutuskan barangan ini sesuai diperjeniskan di bawah
no. kod tarif 7211.90 000 (PDK 2012) sebagai Other flat rolled product of iron or
non-alloy steel, further worked of a width of less than 600 mm, not clad,
plated or coated, berdasarkan alasan-alasan berikut :
Barangan adalah kepingan cold-rolled non-alloy steel strip dalam bentuk coil not clad, plated or
coated dengan pelbagai ukuran lebar yang tidak melebihi 600 mm.
Barangan telah dilakukan proses futher worked (kerja-kerja lanjutan) iaitu rounded at the
edges dengan cara membulatkan bahagian sisi kepingan steel strip.
