3. Teacher asks the student which they prefer to

go either the crowded town or a nice town.

3. Studen

4. Teacher asks the student why they preferred

to go there and asks them to relate their
answer in science.

4. Studen

5. Teacher discusses the different between those

pictures in term of the existence of gas and
states that gas is very useful in daily life.

DEVELOPMENT

Explain gas

1. Teacher explains that a gas that is in constant

pressure,

mass in the container has three special

(10 minutes)

temperature, and

characteristic that related to each other which

volume in terms

is pressure, volume and temperature of gas.

of the behavior
of gas molecules

2. Teacher explains that the three characteristics

are related to each other because of if one
characteristic is changes it may changes other

characteristic, at least one.

3. Teacher tells the students that there are three
types of gas laws which are :
Boyles Law
Charless Law

3. Studen

Pressure Law

4. Teacher describes the pressure of a gas in

term of the behavior of gas.
5. Teacher describes the temperature of gas in
terms of the behavior of gas molecules.

4. Studen

5. Studen

6. Teacher describes the volume of gas in terms

of the behavior of gas molecules.
DEVELOPMENT

Determine

1. Teacher explains the law of the

Activity 2

the

Boyles law which is when the

(10 minutes)

relationship

temperature is constant, the

between

pressure of gas (P) is inversely

pressure and

proportional with volume of gas (V)

volume at

constant
temperature
for a fixed
mass of gas

press the balloon.

3. Teacher asks the students to think
what happened if the balloon gets
pressed against the outside of the
balloon - what happens to the
volume and gas pressure of the

4. Studen

balloon?

4. Teacher explains that if too much

force is applied to the balloon, the
volume of balloon is decrease and it

5. Studen

will pop because the pressure is too

great.
5. Teacher asks the students to think

6. Studen

about - if the balloon were bigger

what would happen to the
pressure?
6. Teacher discusses that the pressure

7. Studen

would decrease because there

would be more room for the same
amount of gas.

8. Studen

7. Teacher gives another example that

related to Boyles law concept
which is by sketching two syringes
that closed at the end.

8. Teacher concludes that when

temperature is constant, the
pressure of gas (P) is inversely
proportional with volume of gas (V)

10. Studen

V
9. Teacher states that the relationship
which is P

between temperature and volume is

called Boyles Law which can be
written mathematically as
P1 V 1=P 2 V 2
10. Teacher gives one example of
problem solving in front of the class.
Question: At 1.7 atm, a sample of
gas takes up 4.25 L. if the pressure
on the gas is increased to 2.40 atm,
what will the new volume?
Answer:

P1 V 1=P 2 V 2

P1 V 1
P2

11. Studen

V2
1.70 atm x 4.25 L
2.40 atm
V2 = 3.01L

= V2

Teacher distributes the

worksheet to the students.

answer question number 1, 3 and 4

in the exercises given.

to come in front as to reflect the lesson today

by sketch the mind map.
