Classroom Rules and Expectations for the 2016-17 School Year

Welcome to 3rd grade! I am looking forward to a great year with all of you!
In order to make this a pleasant year, we all need to cooperate and work
together. We need to follow rules and expectations so we can make this a
fun and exciting learning environment.
Your child will be apart of a 2-way switch during the school day. I am the
homeroom teacher for room 320. This means your child will eat breakfast,
have specials, etc. with me! Your child will have Ms. Gray as their Reading,
Writing, and Social Studies teacher. I will be teaching the Math and Science
subjects. If you have questions with your childs reading or writing progress,
you would direct those concerns with Ms. Gray. Any Math or Science
questions, feel free to contact me!

ALL students are expected to:

Respect everyone and everything around you.
Speak kindly.
Be helpful and responsible.
Take care of classroom and school property.
Try your hardest each and every day.

Math: Every student is expected to complete Compass Learning

assignments or Reflex Math tasks on a weekly basis. These compass learning
assignments will be recorded and apart of their final grades. This requires
students to have Internet access at home. If your child does not
have Internet, I must be informed to set up alternative
arrangements for him/her. Math homework will also be assigned and
checked on a daily basis.

Science: Students will be participating in investigations/experiments during

science class. With that being said, if the student is absent from school they
are missing out on these unique educational experiences. Majority of the

Most of the communication between school and home will be either
through email (preferred method) or phone. If you do not have an
email address, please set one up and send your email to me ASAP.
Students will be coming home with homework everyday and will need
a structured and supportive environment to complete this. Please
encourage them to stay on top of their studies and to come to school
with any questions they have!
Check backpack, take home folder, and assignment notebooks for any
teacher communication.

I have created a classroom website to keep parents up to date on

homework, important dates, etc. The website is
http://3rdgradein320.weebly.com/. I will also be sending home
information to sign up for Remind 101 text messaging service.

Again, I am looking forward to the new school year! If you have any
questions at all please feel free to email me at: lwolkhamer@cps.edu
