ABOUT CMR TECHNICAL CAMPUS:

Permanently affiliated to JNTU and approved by AICTE,

this CMR Technical campus is a robust, finely crafted
premier educational institute with a regular aggregate
intake of 900 students for its various graduate and post
graduate courses.
The motto being the quality education laced with extensive
research and development activities, the campus strives for
setting up the benchmarks at every stage in various aspects.
With a marvellous infrastructure, spread over spacious 25
Acres of land, the campus is served by well qualified and
experienced faculty team, a committed one that too, with
passion to excel in their own areas. The campus has a
spacious central library housing more than 27,000 volumes
and 160 national and international journals. The library
also has college data share through LAN providing 7500+
NPTEL videos, NPTEL text content for about 150+
subjects, MIT course for about 300 subjects, 1000+ Ebooks, 1500+ software tutorial videos, 500+ projects,
2500+ universities and companies information.
ABOUT THE MECHANAICAL DEPARTMENT:
The department of mechanical engineering is established in
the year 2009 from the inception of the college. The
department is equipped with state- of - art infrastructure
and facilities that pioneer among the other institutions in
the state and is at par with the best in the country.
With the annual intake of 180 Undergraduates & 24 Post
graduates, it has produced one batch mechanical engineers,
who are occupying the trust worthy positions in many
organizations/industries both in India and Abroad, apart
from the imparting strong technical knowledge. The
department also imparts communication and soft skills to
the students by strict insistence right from the first year.
The plans are at anvil for the department to be accredited
by NBA certification.

INTRODUCTION

TO 3D PRINTING:

3D printing is defined by the ASTM F42 committee as the

fabrication of objects through the deposition of a material
using a print head, nozzle, or other printer technology.
However, the term is often used synonymously with
additive manufacturing (AM). In particular, it is associated
with machines that are lower in relative price and/or
overall functional capability. AM is the official industry
standard term according to ASTM and ISO, but 3D
printing has become the de facto standard term, and has
become more popular than AM.
3D Printing is used to build physical models,
prototypes, patterns, tooling components, and production
parts in plastic, metal, ceramic, glass, and composite
materials. 3D Printing systems use thin, horizontal cross
sections from computer-aided design (CAD) models, 3Dscanning systems, medical scanners and video games to
produce parts in about every shape imaginable. Design and
manufacturing organizations use 3D Printed parts for
products in the consumer, industrial, medical, and military
markets, to name just a few. Digital cameras, mobile
phones, engine parts, interior trim for automobiles, parts
and assemblies for airplanes, power tools, and medical
implants are just the beginning of a very long list of
products that have benefited from 3D Printing technology.
After more than two decades of research development, and
use, the industry continues to expand with the introduction
of new technologies, methods, materials, applications, and
business models.
3D Printing Experience will help the Faculty, Research
Scholars and UG/PG students to have a practical experience
